I'm an actor in Phoenix and one of my first big roles was being a stand-in for Terry. While other actors were making themselves scarce until filming Terry would hang out and talk to the crew and the extras. He would eat lunch with us while some other actors would go to their trailers. We talked about Flint and I recall him telling me that the recession at the time started in the Flint Michigan region and the rest of America was experiencing what Flint saw three years earlier. Terry is a real one. Stand up dude that is articulate and well mannered.... There are plenty of men that could learn from him.

Gratitude will take you far but pride stunts your growth. Be authentic and resist comparing yourself to others. Know when to pivot into your next dream. Wow!!! Just wow!!! Shannon, this is THE INTERVIEW!!! Terry, THANK YOU for sharing! This is your truth, and we can appreciate seeing your humility. The viewers and I saw you take your heart out of your body and sit it on the table…we could truly see your heart, and your heart posture is amazing! This interview is an inspiration, and it was a whole therapy session in and of itself. This was so therapeutic for me. You dropped so many gems in this interview, but the one that got me was, “Don’t shake your head ‘Yes’ when you mean ‘No’.” I have done that many times, not in the context of money or jobs, but to please everyone. I recently stopped doing that because I had to stand up for myself and make me happy. Now, everyone says, “You are not the same, you’ve changed.” I am like, “You are right. I am living for me and what makes me happy.” Thanks for sharing the story about mopping floors. Some people don’t and won’t get it, but that has always been my mindset. Go hard and work every position like it was more important like the CEO position. I have been promoted so many times because people see and respect my work ethics. This interview is one for the books. Over the next week, I will go back and watch it every day. After that, I will definitely come back to watch it as things come up in my life to pick me up again. You are a gem and a true inspiration! Thank you! This is a must watch over and over and over again!!!!

@TiffaniHolmes-wn4rg That was a truly powerful therapeutic session. The manner Shannon listens actively without being overbearing is a skill many seasoned psychoanalysts would only be too happy to master. This is why his guests are able to open up and share even their most deepest traumas. The whole conversation is so authentic. Shoo, it has so many takeaways to learn from. When he said opportunities have to be seized because living isn't guaranteed, that really resonated with me. Paralysis, fear to take a leap, proscastinating... these are some of my own traits holding me back. Yet I learned that every experience, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is a necessary dot in a big thread that ultimately stitches together to form a complete, unbreakable chain.
