what i like so much about this movie is that cher isnt a bad person, even when tai says something intentionally cruel to her she doesn't bite back because she doesn't want to say something hurtful that she doesnt mean. They kind of paint cher to be this flawed vapid character because of her status but even from the very beginning she always seems to have others best interests in mind and is kind to everyone. I like how her eventual transformation isn't about her suddenly becoming a good person but just about her wanting to be better, she sees there are things that she can do to make her life more meaningful and she takes those steps. i feel like thats how it is for most people, a lot of people are already good but they might not really think about what they can do to just be a little more thoughtful
