Thank you! The sour cherry was definitely our preference 😂 thanks for sharing the correct name of it!
@cv5w3 жыл бұрын
@@Twocantravel the -ată ending corresponds to -ade in English (like lemonade). There are vișinată (sour cherry -ade), afinată (blueberry -ade), caisată (apricot -ade), smochinată (fig -ade). If one were to make a drink out of alligators, the linguistic equivalent of Gatorade would be aligatorată (or crocodilată, because Romanians don't distinguish much between an overbite and an underbite when it comes to reptiles).

Piața Unirii actually means Unification Square. It refers to the unification of the Romanian principalities which created modern Romania. Our national day is the 1st of December when Transylvania united with the Kingdom of Romania (back in 1918).

You don't really HAVE to leave a tip in Romania. We usually do it if we liked the service. There is no 5%-10% rule or whatever, just tip if you want and how much you want.
@Twocantravel3 жыл бұрын
That's good to know. When we Googled it we read that it's appropriate to leave 5-10% tip in Romania depending on how good the service was, so we usually did that. In America it's common to leave 15-25%!

Interesting, Throwing numbers are a bit useless. The $900 rent in Bucarest is half the average salary in that city. My $1600 rent is less than 1/4 of my net salary. I understand that you have a US salary living in poor countries. If I move to Vitnam, I will get a vietnamese salary. Your taxes come with your citizenship. Just give it up and you won’t owe the US anything. But true my bro lives in Australia and because he does not own anything in Canada, not even a bank account, he does not have to pay taxes. Anyhow, I think the picture of revenue vs spending is severely biased. I might be very wrong.

someone's being salty, according to the European Commision, Cluj is one of the most welcoming cities to foreigners in the EU, there's plenty of good restaurants from all cuisines around the world so i'm not sure where exactly you ate, you say that it's homophobic but it's considered one of the most progressive cities in Romania ... and then you go and complain about the climate, ofc the climate is cold, it's inside the Carpathian Arch so you're almost surrounded by mountains in all directions ... and regarding the soil, romanian soil is actualy great for agriculture for horticulture, as long as you keep in mind the climate so most probably growing avocados won't work for you but apples will for example .... as I said, you're just being salty
