First of all, thank you for visiting, showing the country as it is makes you guys unique in this age of overused travel cliche videos. Your video production is above what we usually see on YT, the story of the coutry reveals itself in a cinematic way which is apreciated, at least for those like me who love cinematography. I saw some negative comments, it is what it is, some people only want to see what makes them feel good, but not facing reality will take away your self-awareness and the oportunity to improve as an individual as a comunity and as a country, do not let the negative minds discourage your way of telling the story of your travells. Sure you could do it in a ''professional'' way with planing and acurate info all the time, with guides and translators but it would steal away from the spontaneity, the reactions and interactions, but this isn't a documentary this is your journey, and the whole purpose of a journey is to learn as you go, be surprised by the good and the bad. Safe travells! @@goingtoworld

Romania is one of the best places on earth. Welfare packages the government offers to her citizens are very good. I visited Constanta in 2012 when my son graduated from medical school. My 3 sons got the best qualitative education from the most prestigious Universities in Romania. Education in Romania is very affordable but qualitative. Internet connectivity is one of the best in the world even in villages. My grandson is Romanian. My daughter in-law is extremely beautiful, intelligent and respectful like most Romanian women. Am Nigerian and I love rural Romania. Its like paradise. I like their humanity and simplicity. The Romas or gypsies have always fascinated me from childhood when they lived in caravans in different nations. No nation is perfect. Romania is exceptionally wonderful. God bless Romania.

I'm sure it was hard, but you really managed to pass through and avoid the best parts of the country, our cities, and our attractions and instead headed straight for gypsies, stray dogs in the countryside, and some of the nation's most destitute people in some of our poorest areas. If this video was representative of Romania, you'd imagine we're a nation of destitute gypsies (some who are soon to be rappers or manelisti), accordion players, gamblers, and old folks selling random stuff in empty markets, before going to sleep in Ferentari or our country homes where we live 8 to a bedroom next to our stray dogs. Even with the Monastery, I'm genuinely impressed that you managed to pass through a region with a huge amount of medieval monasteries and fortresses, avoided them, and instead chose to focus on one of the most unremarkable on a remote hill. 10 mins of googling would have provided so many of stunning examples. You filmed stray dogs, empty markets, a chapter on poverty, a chapter on Ferentari (because our most well known ghetto is of course deserving of a chapter in this tourist documentary of Romania). Then, as the cherry on top, in the thumbnail you hilariously photoshopped an image with gypsy watermelon sellers on top of an image of the People's Palace and slapped a big white "Romania" label. Its genuinely so insulting it's hard to believe it's not a parody. I can't imagine that this had anything other than malice behind it. Please, next time, don't come.

Da-i report la video. Si thumbs down.
@harryp3963 Жыл бұрын
I also had the same feeling, it's done on purpose to portray the country in a negative light. Filmed before spring, when the country is gray and monotone, focusing on stray dogs, horse-drawn carriages in rural areas, and gypsies of course, including a fat chapter on Ferentari while pretending to focus on Bucharest. The footage is overall dark, either portraying poverty, mostly with an overcast dark background, driving through darkness at night, etc. Not representative or Romania at all! 👎

She is from Austria, the only country in the EU that opposes Romania's accession to Schengen. The country that occupied our country for many years. What should we expect? "No people on the entire face of the Earth has been more vilified than the Romanian people. Blatant untruths, specific statistics, tendentious insinuations, etc. have crept in for more than half a century: in the fiction and scientific literature of all countries, in the most widespread books of information (Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, travel descriptions, guides, etc.) in geographical descriptions, scientific magazines, newspapers and so on. All this, in order to show the civilized world that in the middle of Europe there lives an inferior people, with savage tendencies, incapable of governing themselves and of civilizing the country in which they live. The center from where this campaign was conducted, at the end of the last century, was chosen in Vienna" (Grigore Antipa - ''The role of the Romanian Academy in combating the campaigns to denigrate the Romanian people and the state'' - communication made in the meeting of April 5, 1940).

And it sure does feel like there would be place for a more pronounced presentation of the good things in this video. Non the less, the most tourists won’t ever visit the areas presented here. So let’s hope that those who will want to visit Romania will check out the chanels that present the beautiful places and the delicious food.

This is such a small part of what Romania has to offer, I've visited most of the country except the south. This video is showing the worst parts of the country they went straight on to recording poverty, chavs, stray dogs, gypsies, poor conditions and the worse neighborhood in Romania renowned for poverty, They've been to so many beautiful places but decided to record only the worst parts, probably that's all they've known sadly. Like someone suggested they should visit and I quote: "1. to visit the country from April to mid-September so that you can enjoy the good weather and beautiful nature and 2. to visit the Middle Ages monasteries in Moldova (Suceava, Neamt, Ceahlau mountain, Lacul Rosu, Cheile Bicazului area, Brasov or Busteni, Sinaia, Bucegi and then further Fagaras area - Cozia monastery, Sibiu city, Vidraru dam, Transfagarasan and Transalpina mountain roads, Sighisoara city and much more. Romania has an interesting though mostly dramatic history, but you will certainly not get bored there. It has certainly a great variety of writers, poets and playwriters not known to Western Europe. Seeing the poverty in some villages may be like the right path for portraying a country as being poor/uneducated mainly to attract more views on KZbin, (just like reporters do to spread misinformation for money) but it also contributes to a certain general negative and false view that most Western Europe continues to have over Eastern and central European countries. To put it in perspective, it would be like me filming the prostitutes, pimps and drugs dealers/addicts in Frankfurt or any other big city in Germany presenting it as a typical German city or as representative for the German culture, which it is NOT (N.B. I do not know where you are from so this reference is not personal)." Hope you manage to read more and discover better parts than you did.

this is a horrible representation of what the country’s true essence encapsulates. As an American, who has family in quite a few different parts of Romania and who I have also visited throughout the years…can confidently attest that this is a gross exaggeration in the opposite of it’s true form… A truly beautiful country not only in its aesthetics to the eye, but the people whom make up its society are much more refined, educated and proper than what is highlighted here.

@toruhatanaka4691 thank you sir, I will try to explain this a little maybe I can encapsulate why most people are furious. We don't have anything against the Gipsys but in this video 90% of the people recorded were gypsies. And in Europe because gypsies(no all but most of them from any country in eu) mainly rob people, scam, hurt, steal, they are not liked much, it's not like in US with the racial issues but there is a dislike towards them. This video shows mostly gypsies houses, gypsies' ghetto and gypsies "driving" horses on the street. Romanians are not gypsies, we only have a minority of them, and being portrait as all gypsies or mostly gypsies it's infuriating. The reason it's infuriating is because there are many countries in Europe that do that, because granted our gypsies and many other countries gypsies went in their country and did harmful stuff and now, we are called or made to look like we are all gypsies. i would have been fine if they show the gipsy and Romanians, nothing against that, but when they make it look like there's only gipsy/we are all gipsy's we get triggered. I always wanted to visit Japan and one day I will hopefully manage to. such a beautiful culture and lovely people from everyone i talked with that visited (I want to take my kids with me and not go alone). Although it looks like a friendly documentary, in reality is not. But hey! Congrats! You know what I like about Romanians and Romania, that they are unique indeed, and despite of poverty and many difficulties, (historically, and economically) , they remained friendly and hard working. For example, they treated you very well, although Austria had a long history of plundering many parts of Romania, and most recently stealing and chopping the forests. What a pity that you didn't do a doc about it. Next time, do a doc about how the wealth of Austria is based on stealing and plundering the countries. Tchus!

Hi, it is so sad that in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and with such friendly people which is rare in this day, you tried to highlight beggars that are everywhere in the world and other negative things giving the false impression of a country that is nowhere near what you insinuate in this video. There is no country without problems, if we take for example famous cities like Oslo, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Paris, Stockholm, London, Amsterdam, etc., we will see similar big problems or some even worse, but we are not only looking for beggars, litterers, drug addicts or thugs that are everywhere unfortunately, show reality as it is, not truncated with adding negative images on top of negative images looking for a collection to make it look like that is normality when in fact it is a montage and those who have been there have you too wrote the opposite of what you wanted to highlight by crowding negative images in the idea of forming an opinion not at all in line with reality. You have been to a country so hospitable and so beautiful in every way that most of those who arrive there fall in love with it and come back again and again or settle there and you "can" or rather reward hospitality with intentionally distorted and false advertising. I hope you understood some of what I said or at least others who were misled, sorry.

Even if this girl who filmed is beautiful on the outside, perhaps within herself , there are all the things that she sees in this country: the grey, destitute, poor, empty places, stray dogs. Its so often that we try to look good and act nice on the outside while on the inside there are so many wounds to heal. She seems to be trying to hard to be 'nice' is not very authentic, and hopefully will become more 'real', but maybe that is her journey to finding herself. After how many gypsies I saw in this video, you would think that Romanians are half gypsies. Yes, we also had our gypsies like all of Europe, but the last arrivals were from the camps of Nazi Germany. Hitler gathered all the gypsies from all over Europe in the concentration camps and after the war no country welcomed them back, only Romania offered them citizenship. We respect them and do not forget that in the two WW1 and WW2 they fought side by side with the Romanians for their country. Gypsies are our artists, our musicians and they are not violent. There are still disputes between clans, but not with the Romanians. And by the way, Ferentari is a safe area and it's not a ghetto it's an area of cheap old blocks where low income people live. In this video it seems that the authors are racist. By the way, I'm not a Gypsy but I appreciate their great artists (lăutari) like Fărămita Lambru or our great violinist who was Ion Voicu. Countless times in this videos you have shown gypsies with their dresses casually walking, or horse with chariots. Even your thumbnail is a dress that is gypsy specific, not romanian national dress. These are rare to be seen in Romania. What you did is that you came here with preconceived ideas in mind and looked to find instances where they can be validated. And you did, no wonder. Do these things exist? Of course they are, but in what proportion? The mistake that you did with the thumbnail in this video is telling that you didn’t do you research. You just went out to find what is known about Romania by the average Joe, as it is portrayed in western media . You might have had good intentions, but you’re not being honest. Off topic, I might be wrong, but I think unconsciously you have a superiority complex. It is not condescending, but more like a “oh, these poor people, bless their hearts…”.

True! And it only goes to show the education that they received at home because I think she is Swiss yet she forgets that Switzerland was the filthiest and poorest country in Europe,vwhilst Romania was bringing slaves from India and Pakistan to work for them, which are now know as gypsies /rroma people.
@AndreiGeorgescu-j9p7 ай бұрын
Honestly it'd be one thing if it was just "look at these poor people" but westerners LOVE gypsies and all the filth they bring. You can see from a mile away one of those chicks with an indian face and a green flower dress isn't even white but westerners love to pretend

The video that denigrated Romania and only highlighted poverty and underdeveloped communities is a blatant example of media bias and manipulation. By focusing solely on the negative aspects of Romania, the video seeks to reinforce stereotypes about Eastern Europe and perpetuate a narrative that is both unfair and harmful. The video fails to acknowledge that Romania is a country with a rich cultural heritage, a growing economy, and a vibrant society. This kind of one-sided reporting is not only dishonest, it is also damaging. It reinforces harmful stereotypes about Romania and Eastern Europe, and disregards the many positive aspects of the country and its people. It is essential that we remain vigilant against these kind of biased and manipulative narratives, and work to promote a more balanced and objective view of Romania and the world as a whole.

She has 1.3k dislikes on this video , wonder why ? and its actually insane , that she only did this to Romania . I check some other videos of this .... and every other country she flilmed in , countries that have way worse economy then Romania , and way underdevelop compared to Romania. Countries like Albania or other very poor ones , and miraculeous somehow she only show the best parts from those countries . But with Romania she did the exact opposite . Think she is from Austria but living in Swiss now . That explain some things ^^ Insane manipulative video shot in 1 direction only . As several users (Romanians who know their country like me) have mentioned, I was saddened by this "poor" vision of the country, as if I spent 50% of the time of a report on France in the jungle of Callais ... it looked a bit like a humanitarian report for the third world, but in this case it was necessary to change the title and focus fully on this subject. Bucharest, my hometown, OMG, 50% of the time spent on Ferentari...a friend lives there, nothing happened to her, and doesn't carry a weapon 😂 that said, there are neighborhoods in France where you can't drive in... Bucharest, there was so much heritage to show, architectural, cultural... modern metro trains, show at least one typical and famous restaurant, the "Caru cu bere" "Hanul lui Manuc" etc... Otherwise, you know how to film well, edit the video, it would only be enough to know how to measure the share of poverty of the country, but by focusing well on the points to be discovered which highlight. If I didn't know this country, sincerely I wouldn't want to visit it after what I saw.

@silviuvornicescu521 You're obviously very close to this topic and very passionate, which is admirable. However, people have access to thousands of touristy videos, and I'm sure they would be looking at more than just his account of what he saw. There are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of really nice videos of Sydney, however to my knowledge there aren't many produced showing the sleazy underside of Sydney or the poverty and homelessness which trust me there's plenty of. After travelling Australia for 10+ years, I was amazed by the sheer number of tourists who come here to see these 'amazing' tourist spots when, in reality, there are better ones in their own countries. The only thing Australia has that no one else does is an abundance of kangaroos. Plus, of course, the importance of the traditional owners and their 60,000 years of continuous inhabitation on this continent before the British invaded. Their artwork and sustainable life are something that should be respected and cherished by Australia. However, if you do come here, you would be lucky to see many aborigines in the cities, however when you travel to the outback or up north there are thousands of indigenous populations living in 3rd world conditions. Watch some documentaries by John Pilger. He's an Australian documentary maker, and he has made a few on the terrible state of Australian indigenous peoples. Our Gov did try to ban his documentaries from being aired, but they have managed to live on even if the KZbin algorithm doesn't push them towards viewers. Other than that, I have found far more natural beauty and historical places in other countries I've travelled than what we have here in Australia.

It'a shame that you tried to capture all the gypsies on camera. And don't say we hate them or discriminate them, because we don't. But we hate that you, the westerners, try soooo bad to present us as beeing exactly the same and you try to present Romania as beeing a country of gypsies. We have different cultures therefore it is for you to understand that we are very different. For example France has a very big arabic community, but that doesn’t mean that all the french are arabs/islamic. Or that all the italians are in the mafia. We, the true romanians, have the right to be acknowledged as romanians, not as gypsies. Is that so hard to accept ? You will say that they have the right to be presented and heard and you are right, but in this case present them as what they are. Because the freedom of one stops right where it’s interfering with the freedom of another !
