Conan's Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson were some of the funniest shit on TV in the early 2000s. And Brian Stack and Brian McCann were two of the funniest writers and skit guys on TV. Almost every skit either of them did was hilarious.

The Michael Jackson via satellite(Clutch Cargo for retro cartoon aficionados) voice always reminds me of the South Park character, Towelie, known for such hit quips as "Don't forget to bring a towel" and " Wanna get high?"
@robertdavis41926 жыл бұрын
i actually looked it up once and couldn't find a definitive answer as to whom played Jacko on late night but as I remember the guy who voiced Towlie either wrote on Late Night for a time or was a well known NYC comic or both but I couldn't find anything on his IMDB beyond a few credits, and since Smigel is Johnny Cochrane he obviously can't be Jackson too
@ConanFanatic6 жыл бұрын
The credits for the episode say Smigel played both Jackson and Cochran, and Brian Stack played 1978 Jackson and Bubbles.
@robertdavis41926 жыл бұрын
i feel really stupid i didn't notice the picture freeze when Cochrane comes out, Jackos mouth stops moving so Smigel can switch characters
@NOVELBITES5 жыл бұрын
robert davis they do sound similar, but Towelie is voiced by Vernon Chatman, a longtime South Park producer.

Im pretty sure the 'Chewbacca Defense' from South Park was a parody based on Jonnie Cochran. And the black lawyer that Kramer and Newman always used on Seinfeld was as well.

@@tyrannosaurusburke Well, he did publicly admit to sharing a bed with unrelated kids, he also said on 60 Minutes that he would consider letting his children sleep in a bed with an unrelated man who's been previously accused of child molestation. Michael Jackson lost his fucking mind after the mid-1990s, probably because of his growing drug habit. Honestly a terrible waste of a brilliant mind. I pity him for the circumstances he was born into (the dysfunctional Jackson family), but it can never fully excuse his shitty behaviour.

Just to make it clear, MJ was not a nice man nor a sane one. The "poorly received" Invincible sold 8 million copies and cost a mind-boggling 30M to produce. Mottola had good reasons to be less than friendly with MJ.
