I buy the Park Tool Polylube 1000 PPL-1 for this hub, nose fits the hole perfect and lets you get good pressure to fill the hub to get things running smooth again, no jolt, pop or noise. I found getting some pressure at to the flow of the grease just so much easier, hope this helps. Had all the same issues of pop/click/snap from the coaster (I take it the grease was minimal or dried out in storage on a new hub, great product, G-Sport for the win! I been through 3 freecoaster before this, they all blew up, great design G!

For some reason my V2 clutch hub ist having problems with the slack, its not slipping but i once put the axle on with all the hardware on without the shell so i can see whats going on and i realized that the clutch as soon as its engaged to pedal forward it slips of the resistantce mechanism even if the slack is at it’s minimum the only thing i swapped is the drive side colar because it blew up.

Sorry, can't really follow your description of the problem. Might be easier if you email me, g at gsport dot co dot UK and explain what the problem is when the hub is assembled and maybe add photos or video explanation.

Hello i am just curious. The c clip what it does to the bearing ? Whats its function?
@gsportgeorge2 жыл бұрын
It's purpose is to fully retain the non drive side bearing. This is what ensures the axial location of the hub on the axle. Without it, it is possible that tricks like tailwhips would slowly drive the hub over towards the driver side. This is all part of letting the driver side bearings "float" axially which saves them from huge axial loads in use.

hey george, when I'm pedalling and then stop, it feels like the clutch is sticking or something, cause the cranks start moving with the wheel if i don't give it a quick back pedal to un stick it and the it pops quite loud , I've been told that the pop go away after a while but I've had this hub for about 4 months now, and the pop is louder then it was in the beginning. do you recommend me pulling it apart, giving everything a good grease and then rebuilding it??
@gsportgeorge8 жыл бұрын
it probably does need grease. but you can try greasing through the adjustment hole first to avoid having to take it apart. just squirt a generous amount in through the adjustment hole and work it back and forth. you need to add lots and can't really add too much so go to town. hope this helps.

Why don't you use a proper bearing press to get the bearings in? Hitting them in is well shanty...
@eskimo41306 жыл бұрын
Lack of lube too. The argument of it's not supposed to move so doesn't require grease doesn't cut it imo. The tolerances aren't perfect, especially when you've stuck a peg of leverage on the end of it and smashed it against something equally hard repeatedly.

hello George! I have a question! I took my clutch hub apart for greasing it because it had a little sound when it disengange. I build it again but now the driver feels like rough and I have my chain loose and I cant do crankflips again because the cranks will stop. any hint will be really helpfull!
@gsportgeorge8 жыл бұрын
Hard to tell without taking it apart. I can't think of anything except maybe some contamination in the driver bearing. I would pop it apart again and clean out the driver internal bearing then regrease. You can do this without taking the driver out of the hub shell. Hope this helps.

Joshua Harris have you tried adding more grease? 99 times out of 100 this is all it needs. It loves grease so don't be afraid to add lots.

George, I had to swap out the axle for one that had 3/8 on both sides, but the axle has play going back and forth, I don't remember if it had that with the original axle, is that normal on these hubs? Thanks.
@gsportgeorge8 жыл бұрын
does it have play when tightened up in the dropouts? It needs that to retain everything.
@LynkWFC8 жыл бұрын
+George French no, no play when in the drop outs, I rewatched your first video and noticed that the axle moved easy when you were trying to take it out on the first hit which didn't look hard and found out it is probably normal, also probably needs to move so the clutch goes back and forth easily.

Everytime I pedal it makes loud popping sounds, and the wheel wobbles when I have it tightened on my bike. I can't seem to fix it no matter what I do
@gsportgeorge7 жыл бұрын
Tokyo HighRise popping noise is usually just a lack of grease but a wobble is obviously not good. Please drop me an email with more details to g at GSport dot co dot uk
