i hate leaving another comment right after another and this is long lol but yeah personally as a watcher i look forward to the multiple videos a day at different times and plan around them (i watch your uploads around the time my earbuds usually die in a day and so i can watch your videos on speaker while they charge bc i dont expect you to say smth id be embarrassed to have play on speaker) and i think you have a sort of lightning in a bottle of the games you play being good for the consistent watching. slice & dice in particular excels as a game you can play basically a couple times a day almost on schedule (and additionally is really accessible but particularly friendly to yt/livestream viewers. spire is similar in this regard) and so in yt content it takes the same shape. its also less similar to typical yt content for children where its trying to grab their endless attention span. i have a life, my limited time spent is better spent on consistently high quality videos as opposed to sifting through the storm

ya i'm gonna put up 2 videos a day at the times i put them right now most likely for the rest of my time as a creator, i just have to be ok with changing it up and trying things like stream highlights or videos i think arent gonna perform super well like shogun showdown. variety in content is how i'll see growth at this point, but as long as people like slice and dice i'll play classic hard maybe for all of my life i love it so much

If somebody told voyix a year ago that he'd be skipping Berserker and rolling with Gambler+Guardian+Jester they'd hear a "uh huh sure thing buddy"

I think for Inevitable, you locked warlock and sharpshot when they were weakened(arounf about 37:00) when you should have been rolling them for a blank for a unite. if you rolled a blank on one of them you could have let Warlock die and you had a good chance to get another unite the following turn to finish it. I think as soona s you got to just inevitable you are looking for wither the mana for blaze or unite and with Warlock weakened you weren't going to get the mana so you should have pivoted to trying to get unite. Thoug at the end of the day this is the danger of inevitable when he spam chain exerts you. I will add, picking ace and using the mana as mostly defensive while throwing unites can work. Unite has the benefit of ignoring the Exerts which if you don't have cleanse I feel actually does a lot in helping against Inevitable.

6:16 I think power stone is an insanely strong pick and hold prospectively it generally boils down to shield for as much mana as you can make which occasionally saves the gray who is at most risk from cleave. But with all of the items that synergize with extra shielding it can be a win condition from your gray which I find to be very rare. Even without that getting steel onto copycat sides which I’m a sucker for is useful for wanderer or whiskers. I think before you would say you want your gray to be shielding but in that same sense you thought a good thing about sinew was if you don’t need to use exert you could shield and I think this applies in a similar manner. How often does 1 damage cleave from guardian make a material difference. For the tier 3 grays I would argue it smooths out the bad ones a bit in terms of what they can contribute being shield themselves/staying alive for free and than being mana neutral to do so

Sorry for the rant I’m practicing making extremely long and niche slice and dice video essays 😮
@Voyix10 күн бұрын
i initially thought this made sense, but the mana side is costing you your grey dice, so you get 4 or 6 shielding on your grey, but you lose out on your grey shielding your allies, the grey dice is typically worth like 5-6 shield in the end game so i think it does get a little murky, but it combos with some things for sure. hard to say if it's worth more than randoming, since i got a good result for my random. probably pretty minor and idk how you optimize

Also regarding inevitable, he makes crystalise way better as that can dodge his exerts, weakens or the wisps pains. This in reverse to the value of cantrips.

I think serration is still a good call. It’s strong against 3/4 bosses. Even against inevitable it’s good. He never did his big heal bite, but when he does, serration helps you tear through the new hp. Dumbbell prophet is good too, though. It’s offense vs. defense.

Ive been finding inevitable to be the hardest boss now that the hand is nerfed. Its definetly in part hand over correction, ive needed to value shaman and prince alot higher than i used to. When inevitable just cleave exerts the same people 3 times in a row its really hard without cleanse, 21damage cleave stun is so nuts

40:45 No, no Serration was not the problem. You could've perfectly set up Inevitable for a turn 2 kill with 3 damage Serration + Blaze, which would leave him at 12 HP with plenty of outs because he pretty much did the best move for a quick kill. The whisps also didn't threaten you at all Turn 1. But yes, Dumbell prophet could have also made things way easier.
@Voyix10 күн бұрын
i think that if you go all in on inevitable you just lose the game, first you have to connect with the mana on the following turn, which means you have to exert prophet, then assuming you hit the mana on prophet and killed the wisp that's paining warlock and hit bloodlust, you're still looking at 3 dice on your side to stop 3 wisps and 2 bones from bulldozering you. wisps' biggest threat is pain locking you down or bones flooding you both of which are things they're doing there. you're right that turn 1 they're not immediately threatening you but you're most likelyg uaranteed dead on turn 3 if you go in on inevitable on 1 and 2
@amhyams10 күн бұрын
@@Voyix yeah the scary part of the inevitable fight is secretly the wisps. taking out the ones summoning turn one was for sure the correct play. i think serration was an OK pick though because if that had been the hand you needed it. i think some minor misplays added up to make the inevitable fight harder
@Aborios10 күн бұрын
@@Voyix I just don't see it. I came up with about 10 different ways to kill a 12 HP Inevitable with this exact team and only one or two included any Prophet side. Most of them didn't even factor in Blaze as a spell. Pretty much all of the scenarios I came up with in my head included at most 3 characters. I'm usually very much in agreement of your way of thinking about target priority and strategy in general but here I have to disagree with you. And I also agree with the other person that Serration was a good choice in case you had to fight The Hand. (also good if the Dragon high rolls poison and you low roll)
@noahryan86729 күн бұрын
@@amhyams i think that this is mostly true, but i also think the wisps are a slight bait. I think breaking inevitable intangibles early is worth a bones summon or two. You often have extra damage you can't sink into inevitable, so it goes into the bones in the next turns, and it helps prevent the fight from running away from you. I might be wrong: maybe some responses from inevitable make this bad, but this is what ive been doing.

Ace would had been better pick than Warlock
@Bnvnu10 күн бұрын
see, the problem here was that you rerolled a unite on the first turn, that would've turn inevitable into dust. Thankfully, you got another one later on, otherwise this was done (also, warlock did absolutely nothing, this was an ace angle)
@Voyix10 күн бұрын
i already wrote a really long response to a similar thought to this, the summary is that if you send all your dice into inevitable on turns 1 and 2 you definitely lose the fight to wisps. this is only viable if he's not exerting you turn 1
@Bnvnu10 күн бұрын
@Voyix yea, you said it before, "wisps first, inevitable second" but with 1 extra hp on the wisps, that changes the equation quite a bit. With it taking longer, the era part of inevitable becomes that much dangerous. And as such, i believe monster hp+1 makes targeting the wisps first (unless you got something made for it, like blades, crush or berserker's rampage) a losing strategy
@willw586810 күн бұрын
Ace not the play, what in the world are you supposed to do with the mana. Blaze into inevitable is strong even if it didn't pan out here
@Bnvnu10 күн бұрын
@willw5868 draw for rampage, to kill the wisps at the same efficiency rate, but with extra mana so it ends up better, burst for steel/mana for charged...ace seemed more fitting (and a lot more powerful, with the pseudo-pocket watch)
@willw586810 күн бұрын
@Bnvnu yeah, but if you dont roll rampage its not better really, which he didnt. If your talking about big single damage hits, blaze is obviously a more consistent option than rolling for steel imo. Definitely agree that ace has a much better ceiling than warlock. But playing around your other characters cooperating with specific sides is not good in general. Warlock is a self sufficient pick that counters inevitable well I feel
@Effsesfox10 күн бұрын
Yeah, you definitely do run ahead without stopping to consider enemies+items sometimes but tbh I feel like that's only happening since you're recording and split between playing and trying to give constant commentary. The fact you can focus as much as you do on video is wild to me
@Voyix10 күн бұрын
57 runs is 1040 floors too, gonna make some suboptimal plays sometimes. slice and dice is a game about building out a really big knowledge of niche interactions, like now "ink bottle off in inevitable" which is probably not going to happen for a very long time
