Here's a Seeburg Clutch. Many 1960s - 1980's Seeburg Jukebox Models use this Clutch. This non-technical video shows the clutch removed and I ramble about it. If you are a Seeburg expert, you will find this very rudimentary. However, if you are still learning how your Seeburg Jukebox works and have never held a clutch in your hands, then you might learn a thing or two about what the clutch does. I find it fascinating because it is totally Mechanical with shafts, gears, cams and cogs whereas everything today is a computer chip and a flash drive.
In retrospect, I should have reviewed Seeburg manuals before filming to ensure using the correct terminology. This was a spur of the moment video without editing. If you make a better Seeburg clutch video please leave a comment so people can find it. One clutch video is by "FourtyFivePlayer" and it was helpful to me - especially the E clip.
Words of caution. Don't as a novice just start taking things apart on a Seeburg or you will not get it back together (working). I have torn this Mechanism down to this point because I cannot get it to work and as of this video, this mech has a problem that I don't understand. There are some tricks to removing and more importantly reinstalling the clutch which you need to understand before grabbing a screwdriver. If you ever remove the record rack like this one, I strongly suggest you mark exactly where it was so it goes back in the exact same footprint. Be very careful about what you remove and take digital pics of everything including wiring, screws, etc so you know how to put it back together.

I just completely disassembled my usc-1. Cleaned and oiled piece by piece. It took me about a month doing a little at a time, and it was a mechanical nightmare to look at. To my surprise it was quite simple in its modular design. This was my first seeburg to dismantle, and from now on they will all get the same degreasing, and lubrication. So much smoother and so clean.

Wow, great video! That machine you are working on is so clean too! I just dismantled the entire record mechanism including the clutch and have started to reassemble it all, what a mess. The machine worked for the most part after spraying all the mechanical joints with fluid film but it could not penitrate through the celitified grease in all the joints. The only way to get rid of it was actually to dissasemble the entire mechanism, a very time consuming hastle. Once again great video explaining about the clutch.

Thanks for the video and tips. I am still learning but hesitant to remove my mech for a clean-up. I also want to replace my tone arm + cradle assembly one day (easier than fixing a broken cartridge lead) and will try to KZbin it. It would be nice if some of the "real" experts posted videos for rookies like us. Books are helpful but moving pictures are worth thousands of words.

Hi Nice Vid,i have a question,i have a Seeburg LPC1, it plays the normal selections very good, but the problem lies in the mini lp album selection, the top row in the selection cards rack, if i select like U1 or N1 ,it goes to U1 or N1 and picks a the record great and plays it,but right after the first notes of music the mechanism clicks and turns the record over to the other side, and plays that side all the way through the end and puts the record back, any idea ?? THANKS !

Had to take my record rack off my 1968 seeburg LS1 jukebox. Problem is when I took my record rack this component fell out and I don't know how to put it back on. Any pictures or ideas. I had to take my clutch apart lube it up real good because it froze. Now it's lube and ready to roll but I can't figure out where this goes. Great it won't let me add a picture. It's beyond where the arm put record in or out. Has two plungers. Help
