I pulled my motor last month and cleaned and did a refresh on every gasket possible. I didn’t think about doing the transmission seals at the time. I ended up putting the motor and trans back in and drove the car for 100 miles. Turns out that one of the seals was bad and was pissing tranny fluid everywhere. I ended up pulling my transmission today and changed the all the seals. Wish me luck that it doesn’t leak! Also great video! I wouldn’t have tackled any of this issues if I have came across your channel, much love Greg!

For the shim you can also use a dab of grease (I use automatic transmission assembly grease)

That magnet trick is pretty slick, I've never done a transmission servicing like this but I would have probably racked my brain for hours trying to figure out how to make it easy

i have the exact same clutch/flywheel setup on my VVt and havent noticed any change in rev speed, when reving the engine just while standing. I did take video of reving before and after install, and the speed of rpm raise and fall is the same :) rev matching between gears seems to be better and more responsive though it seems. one con is that if you daily the car, snailing in traffic just with clutch is impossible, always need to rev it to move.

You can stick that thin metal washer into the input cover using grease

Greg, a magic trick to hold that shim in put a smear of grease on it and it will stick in place so you can put it back on.

Can you help. 04 Mazda speed 6 speed. I pulled wrong bolt out of trans to fill with gear oil. I pulled the 8mm Allen on opposite side, and now it won’t go back into gear or shift. Who can I call for help? I did pull trans back out & ordered a Small Camera to try & line this long adjustment bolt back up in right place.

I have an boosted 02 accord. 240cc stock injectors, no tune. Using an FMU. 12:1 I heard there only good for a safe 5psi. Is there anyway I can use add more boost safely ? I want to add atleast 10 pounds. But I know the fmu wouldn’t be able to support that much fuel, and I don’t want to spend the money to get a stand alone or tune ?
@TheCarPassionChannel2 жыл бұрын
Most stock ECU's can handle about 20% larger injectors so you may be able to cheat a little extra fuel that way, and also the 12:1 FMU might be maxing out your pump pressure, if that's the case you can upgrade the pump but you might actually need a lower ratio disc so the fuel pressure doesn't go too high. Each part in the system affects the others
@crix4593 Жыл бұрын
probably a bit late but does the 6 speed have the gasket and seals behind that plate?

Will the Stainless line snap into the holder on the firewall?
@miatafied2 жыл бұрын
I been wondering why all these companies do the 1.8 clutch and always recommend the 1.8 clutch. Both the 1.6 clutch AND flywheel are noticeably lighter than the 1.8 stuff.
@TheCarPassionChannel2 жыл бұрын
Because usually when you upgrade your clutch you need more holding power, so going to the 1.8 size is an easy way to gain extra. But if you don't need it, and you love quick revs, the 1.6 stuff is what's up!
@andrewatkins14382 жыл бұрын
I have a turbo Miata that's quite laggy, if I go a lightweight flywheel will it give the illusion of hitting boost sooner as you hit the rev's quicker? I know boost still hits it's peak at the same rpm but getting to that rpm quicker would make it seem less laggy??

@jhonnilund3.blystkjrskolen5112 жыл бұрын
You don't balance them, as far as I know there is no easy way to add weight to it
@theo_korner2 жыл бұрын
@@jhonnilund3.blystkjrskolen511 you just remove weight by drilling holes on the clutch assembly and drilling hiles in the cranklobes
@TheCarPassionChannel2 жыл бұрын
