CLZ is life changing. I too used to keep track of my collection in a spiral binder. Was a few times I had misplaced it. A fellow comic collecting co-worker suggested CLZ. I've been using the app for about 5 years. I'm grandfathered in. I paid for the Gocollect feature last year. Best investment I've spent on an app to help me keep track of my collection.

Yup yup!!! I personally think that this is the best collection database app/website out there. Been using it for 2 years and all its features has helped me in big ways. It's a great tool that allows you to have your entire collection in your pocket when you visit your LCS. Awsome to use when you are hunting in "back issue bins" if you are missing issues to complete a run. Awsome Video Regie. Very happy that you presented this to your followers.

I think that’s one of the best features. Having the collection at your fingertips in the shops is invaluable. The combination of this app, key collector app and GoCollect put you in a position to make some really informed decisions.

This was a pleasant surprise! So glad to see you jumped in and tried this out Regie. I love everything about CLZ and have been using their Comic Collector desktop application since 2004. The mobile app is indeed feature-rich and I sync the iOS version with my desktop app regularly. The desktop application as you can imagine is even more robust having been around so much longer. I probably only use a fraction of the features available on it. But it is indispensable software for me and I could no longer manage my collection without it. Thanks for another great video!

@@RegieCollects Had a follow-up question... Can I create multiple subfolders so I can track what issues I have/need for specific storylines? Examples, "Age of Apocalypse" or "Blackest Night/Brightest Day"... Can I have issues I own in my main collection folder, and also in a subfolder so I can go straight to that folder and see which issues I have or still need to complete the run? Obviously the issues I "need" won't be entered, but more to help me avoid buying duplicates while filling out a storyline. I prefer to track down an entire story before reading it start to finish, without having to wait or come back to it.

Have been using the CLZ app since it launched! It has been extremely helpful in cataloging and organizing the collection over the years. Even with an obscure title that may not be found, you can add it manually, as you described in the video. It is a must have for any collector and is great for searching the writer and artist of each comic you might bring along to a convention to get signed. Great video @RegieCollects!

Fantastic video. CLZ is a very useful app with many useful features. Great job giving a "quickstart" guide! If you don't mind, I'd like to make a few additional comments on CLZ: 1) Despite how the CLZ website makes it seem, you DO NOT need to pay for the computer based application in order to use your computer to access the collection you have built in the phone app (once you sync it to the cloud.) 2) Getting the GoCollect values is currently part of a subscription service with CLZ, but it's worth it. I believe there is a trial period where it is free. 3) You cannot currently use multi level sorting, but per customer service they are working on implementing that feature (such as sort by publisher then series) 4) You can, however, create a few categories that make the app sort by two different criteria. I got CLZ around 2 years ago, and became frustrated with it for a reason I can not longer remember. I used League of Comic Geeks for about a year, and have been back with CLZ for around 6 months. In my opinion, it is the best comic collection app out there.

I have been using this app since it was originally released. This app is fantastic and have adapt it to meet my needs as I have multiple copies of same books. I record as much information that describes the books including slab serial numbers etc. Notes can include dates of purchase, grade and whatever information you deemed important to you. The monthly fee is good as it allows you to sync to cloud and use it over different platforms plus it allows you to update the FMV of your books based on GoCollects data base. Love this app

Can't believe you haven't been using this app! Its one of those "must have" things if you are a comic collector. Had it for about 4 years now. About 3/4 of my collection is raw books and I notate the flaws in the "notes" section. I also grade my raw books (per my standards) and include the purchase price, and where/when it was purchased. Before I upgrade my lower conditioned books, I look at this app and review if the potential purchase is better than my existing copy. This app has save me from wasting a ton of money by preventing duplicate purchases and from buying books in the same (or worse) condition that I already owned. It also allows me to keep track of ebay sellers and if they were honest with their listings and if they ship their books well protected or not. The CLZ Movies app is another must haves.

Another cool thing is you can set defaults for any fields, so I set the default grades at 9.8 to help keep tips on whether a book has gained value and might be good to slab... then of course use the “slabbed” feature and assume raw grades may be incorrect and further estimate the value/grade if I see one gaining value. I also love that I can keep track of what I spent for each book, personally I just leave that blank if I paid cover price and only fill it if I paid something else... but as you said the beauty is you can use the app the way it best suits your needs...

One tip, turn off the auto sync if you're adding a ton of books at once. The auto sync will trigger and kick you out of the screen you're working on and you'll have to start over. (Unless they've patched that since it was happening with me.)

Then i go back into the edit and upload it from my camera roll and it fills it in with a nice full solid picture and not something taken from the phone with my comic sitting on a desk. Hope this helps someone.

I started using the app last year and just added the Comic Connect and Covrprice. I inherited my sisters collection about 64 long boxes of comics many boxes of paperbacks and comic memorabilia. The comics are a huge collection and has been overwhelming. how is the best way to organize, this collection?
@RegieCollects Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty tough to answer that without understanding why you are trying to organize it. Are you doing it because you plan to keep the collection? Are you doing it to price the keys? Are you hoping to come up with a dollar amount for the overall collection to sell it? The answers to these questions might help me to answer your question. I am hesitant to say what’s “best” without understanding what you’re trying to accomplish. Feel free to message me on Instagram or email. Instagram is must easier. Sorry for your loss.

A few questions: Is it a one time fee to use the app for life? Can you export data from the system for safe keeping? If let's say, it is a subscribtion service, but due to hard times you can't keep it? Do you lose all your info? What if your comic isn't in their data base? Your example showed that the upc was recognized, but what if nothing is recognized in any way? Side note- just realized you sound very similar to Casey Kasum to me lol Would love to use something like this, but if I can't list everything it's rather moot.

To get the total cover price you would need to know the individual issue cover prices then add them manually. Cover prices are general listed right on the comic. You can also look them up in a pricing service which gives you the cover price.
