That saddest thing about Hogan lying is he never had to. We wrestling fans would love to hear the real life he lived, it could be remarkable. Too bad he’s a terrible person outside the lying.

He always worked too hard (doggy paddling towing the Empire State Building between his teeth and Donald Trump on his back?) but all these stories would have been fun and believable or at least funny in the 80s (phone calls from Ali's wife, saving Harley Race). I'm fine with a burial for another reason: Hogan, even as a character, hasn't been entertaining for 20 years at this point. He was pretty awful in WCW when he went from "Hollywood" back to 80s yellow trunks "Hulkamania" Hogan again. He was alright during the nWo stuff in WWE, "Hulk Still Rules" and Mr. America was fun, but everything since then was awful. Same with Flair, after his retirement match with Shawn Michaels. They both just became less and less likable or entertaining even as _characters_ after the mid 2000s.

It's not really that hard to understand. He has lost trust, and that's the reason why apologies or excuses do not fly anymore. Every wrestling podcast has a "top 50 lies" compilation of Hulk Hogan, and every interview with ex-friends and colleagues paints him as the master of backroom politics, regardless, and he has undoubtedly bruised many egos. Throw in the "downfall of TNA" (and Pastamania), and he has gained a reputation as untrustworthy. To amplify this there is a new generation of fans that have only heard the negative and nothing about his positive moments in WWF or the NWO. So when he does have moments such as the Bubba incident or using the N word, people are already giving him the worst possible bad-faith reading of the situation. He is also old and white and represents many of the tropes of racism for many of the youth who can't get their heads out of a book long enough to see the black entertainers and athletes he befriended, and helped promote or progress as far back as the 70's, 80's and 90's.

I'll put it this way; for me PERSONALLY, the support of Trump is just the urinal cake on top of the crap sundae. It's the way he's treated people, the things he's lied about, and the racism that made me someone who would boo him if I was someone who would boo him if I'd been in that crowd. The politics would just make me boo harder. I can only assume most people are the same.

The reasons are as follows: 1. The lies 2. The racism 3. The right wing politics. I mean people cheered Triple H and his mother-in-law is Trump's secretary of education, people cheered Undertaker, and Taker actually endorsed Trump

Man, he should go as Hollywood Hogan at SNME. Just be a heel and just do his thing.

Punk vs Hogan at Wrestlemania is a certainty now. Expect a "ripped tshirt on a pole" match.

If I was WWE I'd would promote The American Badass The Undertaker to sell the real American Beer 😎

Why do people assume Hogan is a terrible person? He hasn't done anything illegal or harmed anyone like Austin did. As far as Hogan and stories who's to say he isn't suffering from dementia or CTE?

If WWE is looking for a new sponsor for the beer, why not use two Real Americans. Zeb Coulter (Dutch Mantell) and Jack Swagger. WE THE PEOPLE!

Seems like it buries Punk more than Hogan

Are you enjoying wrestling a bit more.these days, James? I'm a bit younger. I started watching in very late 03, a pretty odd time to puck it up. I have went back and watched some territory era stuff and I think adpectd of old and new could bounce off each other. WWE might be the best it has been in the 21 years I've watched on and off. At least from my standpoint. And it feels nice to just enjoy the action, see people succeed and ignore the people who analyse everything to minute detail. :)

The new face of real American beer should be the man that was given that theme in the first place Barry Wyndham

I was thinking Chad Gable. He already has a lot of heat.
