I really don’t get how people, more specifically these toxic WWE mega-smarks, can hold it against Punk for leaving and saying why he left. He was literally being worked to death. They made him come back repeatedly from injury, refused to give him time off to heal and they weren’t even having him do anything that made him happy. While taking away promotional opportunities originally offered him such as movies and commercials and giving them to other people they liked instead. And they misdiagnosed his MRSA staph infection for months, which could have killed him. He took himself out of a bad situation for his own safety and happiness, and what does WWE do in response? They fire him ON HIS WEDDING DAY. Yet people wonder why he wouldn’t “stop saying mean things about my favorite company WWE”? 😆 These idiots need to get their heads out of their rectums. He wasn’t happy, he wasn’t getting rest and he was sick, so he made himself happy and un-sick by giving himself time to rest, and he looks happier than ever. Good for him. @@2jebeal exactly. Hell, Sasha Banks and Bryan Danielson, two stars and Wrestlemania main eventers, said at one point they were depressed because of how Vince runs the place. Sasha asked for her release in April 2019 and Vince said no. Otherwise, she’d probably be going at it with Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa in AEW right now. Both Sasha and Bryan LOVE wrestling, they never wanted to do anything else, but Vince and his toxic goons made them depressed to be doing something they love. That speaks volumes about WWE. I think the only person truly happy in that company is Vince himself; that’s it. And for that reason, I see more people eventually heading to AEW. He can keep his billion dollars and his infrastructure, whatever; I’d rather see a real alternative where people love professional wrestling.

Wrestlers taking time off to recuperate from injuries or surgeries or for health reasons, or just taking mental breaks, is not only crucial for them to be able to continue to perform long into their older age, but just makes more sense from a viewer perspective. Being bombarded with a particular performer every single time they turn on the TV, unless they're absolutely top tier infectious personalities like Austin and Rock were, runs the risk of overexposure or creatively diluting characters. I don't entirely blame Vince or management for wanting to keep Punk on TV if he was part of big storylines, but if he needed time off, it would've been far better to find appropriate times to write him off, give him time to rest up and regroup, and by the time he reappeared, he could've been in better shape, and may not have wanted to not wrestle for 7 years. Instead, they ran him into the ground, he saw WWE for what it was, and almost quit the business for good. Glad to see him back, and in AEW. Can't wait to go to Dynamite live this week because of it.

He probably would've persuaded you to stay, but you know, you're a grown up? You can make your own decisions too? It's not like they weren't wrong or arrogant in many ways, no doubt they were. Vince rushed him back in 2 months because Payback was in Chicago and Vince couldn’t sell it out without Punk. Punk said no, but Vince kept pushing and pushing by telling him how much he was needed because the roster was thin on talent. Punk agreed because Vince said he would “owe him one,” and Punk thought by doing Vince the favors he was asking, he would be considered for the main event of Wrestlemania, his career goal at the time. But of course, Vince never paid back the favor and just kept working him into the ground until Punk felt he had to leave for his own health. Seeing as how they misdiagnosed that MRSA staph infection for months that could have killed him, Punk definitely made the right decision.

They don’t get paid as much as you might think. They travel all over without compensation for it. It’s a terrible career for anyone. As fake n corny as it is, the truth is it’s hard work with little reward unless you make it big. If you have made it big you’ve been through all the things I’ve mentioned in my comments. The injuries they suffer last a lifetime n don’t get better as they get older n there’s little if no protection for these injuries monetarily through their employment as wrestlers. So he thought it was a bad environment. >Yet, he stayed for years allowing himself to be at a near death situation. And only left after he lost the 2014 Royal Rumble, preventing him from headlining WrestleMania? >Then he went to UFC, where you can easily die due in a single match? >Then he returned to that company to do promos on the same company that was supposedly so toxic? Sure, Punk. Sure.
@Jeff_Pryce3 жыл бұрын
He never returned to the company; he went to FOX. WWE wasn’t signing his paycheck, FOX was paying him to keep an honest opinion on a product they paid (and were swindled by) half a billion dollars to air on their network.

I don’t think he should have to refuse to answer questions he doesn’t mind taking about. I remember when he was going into ufc there were interviewers who would keep asking him shit about wwe while he stated he didn’t want to talk about it.
