WWE superstar CM Punk appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour to promote WrestleMania 40, where the Second City Saint was asked about his time in AEW. Punk was honest about his departure, and even discussed the Brawl In incident with Jack Perry, how he thinks Tony Khan isn’t running his business correctly, and more.

TK needs to realize his indy booking style no longer works in 2024. Just like how WWF cartoonish booking wasn't working anymore in the mid 90s, so they started producing edgier content. TK needs to start booking from a storyline and character standpoint rather than "dream matches" for no reason.

@@Coltwilliams When WCW was producing edgier content before WWF was doing, they started winning the ratings war. WWF also followed suit by producing edgier content. Did we all accuse WWF for being WCW lite? No cause it was the trend that was working. Sometimes you gotta take a page out of what WWE is doing and apply it differently.

Cm punk is correct when he said that "if you are worried about a guy giving 5 stars, then its not the same business". Thats the issue with aew currently. Like 90 % of the roster just wants to impress dave meltzer, and thats it. Including tomy khan himself.

Bro we been telling you this about TK for years and you kept chocking it up to tribalism. We kept saying that the show is ran like Universe mode in WWE games. It was clear from the beginning that he didn’t know what he was doing and was being taken advantage of by the wrestlers themselves. I’m looking at somebody like Jericho because he knows better and the way he’s been acting for the past couple of years has been very strange and exposing. I think it was the fact that AEW was new and The Entire IWC was upset with WWE at the time and was willing to give anything a chance. Those of us who saw the the BS early on we’re called all kinds of names and as the year’s played out everything that we were saying then about AEW is happening now. *Excuse my punctuation, I’m just high and did a long ten hour stretch at work, so I’m just throwing my little 2 cents in the conversation.

I don't like shot on the other KZbin channel, but this one channel named King Mike's 🌎 He said that AEW needs to be canceled. He doesn't like Mercedes Mone for whatever reason. The key thing he said is that what's wrong with AEW is Tony Khan. He's a horrible businessman, and he doesn't know the value of money.

I Quit." - CM Punk to TK; I would just get rid of the ROH brand already. the TK vs. CM Punk confrontation = this was like the "training wheels / practice" mode; before TK rides a bicycle down a steep hill or on an BMX/motorcross off-road course. TK has help now from: Jennifer Pepperman (Content Developer); Kosha Irby (Chief Operating Officer) & Slapnuts (Jeff Jarrett: NWA-TNA/GFW). TK stays up at night (3 in the morning), on his phone & can't stop Tweeting on X, on pro wrestling fans that don't follow him or the anti-AEW bots: Why ?!?! Ariel Helwani; Ari Emmanuel. I can see the tongue twister play on words there. I would have loved to see a "Hangman" (Adam) Page vs. CM Punk feud (in AEW) or a Christian Cage vs. CM Punk feud. CM Punk's best stuff (in AEW): Eddie Kingston, MJF, Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose), Adam Cole, FTR, Sting; I see. CM Punk had complained about the tricep injury in AEW (at the All Out 2022 PPV; it was injured once again, at the WWE's Royal Rumble PPV); DIY; the first injury that he had was a broken foot (June 2022).

Punk has a point though, not saying Tony is a bad guy, he was just a poor leader. But i think all of it comes from a lack of experience because keep in mind, hes only been doing this for 5 years, hes still a rookie. and on top of that hes operating as more of a fan first then being a boss second. All of that was from 2019 to 2023. Its 2024, AEW did a total 180 since after revolution. The direction has changed especially in the creative department.They signed will osprey, okada, and Mercedes mone so best believe that Tony has learned his lesson after what happened last year. Now granted, they are going to have to reduced back to small arenas until things get better which it will. But since Tony has a team now, we will see how things go. They are doing fine so far.

As far as cm punk goes, i honestly think the plan was for him to return to wwe anyway. Yes he went to AEW but i dont think that was the endgame for him to end his career. I believe he always wanted to end his career in wwe on a good note then he did years ago.

Tony Khan isn't a leader. Punk has also spat his dummy out in 2 promotions, gotten fired, then gave 1 side of the story. I have no doubt that there is some truth in what He says but everyone is the hero of their own srory and we haven't heard the other side

Just like how so many WWE fans constantly want to attack anybody that likes aew and they always say oh they're Indie wrestlers are never going to draw a dime do these people keep forgetting that their favorite precious wrestlers in WWE were also Indie wrestlers at one point what are these people think that people were just born the stars that they are now That Undertaker was always Undertaker lol😂 literally every wrestler that comes from a different company everybody crapped all over them but as soon as they came to WWE they were all over them and how can other companies get a chance of people just constantly want to crap on them and make them go out of business it makes no sense I'm a pro wrestling fan I watch any damn thing and I'm not the biggest fan of WWE but I'll still watch it and give them praise when they need it I mean of course I'm not going to be one of these sheep that constantly just want to over praise everything WWE does and constantly crap on anything any other company does
