That's great, but also the problem. Every company needs an honest person. A No Sayer between "Mutes" or Yes Men. But a lot of people don't like them. And if they are the bosses (EVPs) and or don't put your foot down, it's a lost battle. And just to be clear, when i say "mutes" (i hope that's the real word i mean), that isn't meant to be an insult to those employees.

That “What you do want me to do?” shows the exact type of boss Tony Khan is. Honestly glad CM Punk left, he looks way more happier and is in a better position with his return in WWE . It was like every ten seconds when he was in AEW, Punk was always getting into something with the talent but it looked like he was genuinely just going to work and wanted to help the that company get better. So now it all makes more sense hearing Punk’s side.

You can make the arguement that Punk stirred unnecessary problems with the other wrestlers in aew but the fault of BOTH brawl out and brawl in lies ultimatly in aew's managment who took a pretty poor aproach to the whole situation by not directly interfering and making sure the wrestlers, you know, dont want to fight each other Aew's more laid back aproach to "wrestlers doing and saying whatever they want" can be both a blessing and a curse

This is what I like about Punk. When shit hits the fan, he stays quiet and keeps his peace while the other side “leaks” their side of the story to paint him as the bad guy. And mostly everyone feeds into it, shit talking him. Until Punk finally speaks his mind and tells his side, and the story makes better sense. Whether you believe him or not, he doesn’t seem like the type to lie to protect himself. Been a Punk fan since ‘06 and have never switched up on him, I love his attitude and how he handles everything.

@MAV7REK 4 ай бұрын
@@hectic105 I agree. But for someone as passionate as Punk is, and even said so himself that he used to be like Jack Perry when he was younger, he understood that sometimes your tone needs to be aggressive (if the person isn’t listening, especially if Perry did cuss out those other people) in order to get the point across. Especially if it was a continuous thing, as he said, with management not doing shit about it.

It was the only way to get him to stay, apparently. When Punk realized that the children in charge didn’t want to work with him anymore, he just wanted to be released from his contract and I don’t blame him. It wasn’t fun anymore and he didn’t want the drama if he wasn’t wanted by the EVPs. He didn’t need it; he has his money, he has his hot wife, his dog, his home, that’s all he needs to be happy. But it was clear that Tony did not want to lose Punk so he probably gave him that as some kind of caveat, I think punk knew that this whole thing was not going to work out, but he figured “OK maybe I should give it a shot”.

Punk is one of those last, real old school guys. Glad he’s back in WWE and is going to be working under Hunter. Ross, big fan, love your show, boss. 😊 Punk’s words just pretty much confirmed what most of us who aren’t the blind AEW fanatical diehards already know: AEW has potential, but as long as it’s run like a clubhouse instead of a real business, they will never truly realize their potential. Tony is letting the only viable alternative to WWE since the death of WCW go to waste because a handful of aura-less underweight indy geeks care less about drawing a business and more about making it a higher budget PWG just to earn an extra star from some senile old fart obsessed with workrate and Japanese wrestling. And unless that changes, the future looks bleak for AEW.

First off, I like watching AEW shows. So, I'm coming at this with no hate. CM Punk is right. The one flaw: TK HAS to be the boss. Handle this stuff. This stuff would not be allowed by WWE management. Tony HAS to be the boss because he is the boss. You can't be a fan and a boss because sometimes you have to put your foot down. Like any job.
@iamYANYEZ
@iamYANYEZ 4 ай бұрын
Maybe Tony would have handled it, but had a freaking PPV to run. This literally all went down in a matter of minutes. If I was the boss, I certainly would have waited for the conclusion of the event to punish Jack for what he did. Punk doesn't get a free pass to assault a co-worker because his boss doesn't manage the way he likes in the timeline he demands (again, one that AT MOST was a few minutes). Tony did put his foot down, when he fired punk and suspended Perry (to this day) and all anyone wants to do is bitch about it. Punk was in the wrong and won't own it. I love him as an entertainer, but his inability to admit his own faults is a seemingly deep and constant character flaw.
@davonhall9652
@davonhall9652 4 ай бұрын
@@iamYANYEZ Can't disagree. But Punk said that if he handled it himself, people wouldn't like the way he'd do it. It was all a powder keg.
@Jeff_Pryce
@Jeff_Pryce 4 ай бұрын
@@iamYANYEZ When the boss and management won’t handle the situation, conflict is inevitable. From how it sounds, Perry was the one instigating everything and got close enough to Punk’s personal space where it caused a problem. All Punk asked him was “ why do you insist on doing this stupid dangerous crap on live TV?” And Perry baited him to do something about it. The same kid who cursed out Tony SCHIAVONE, a a legend in the business as well as agents, and even the doctor who all warned him why his stunt was dangerous. Perry should have been terminated for that long before All In. The fact is that Tony is a pushover. And when he starts acting like the boss, that company is never going to realize its potential no matter how much of his money he sinks into it. And he can only so much in before he’s forced to stop. And as a reminder, he didn’t want to be there. He asked Tony to let him go, and Tony refused because he rightly realized that Punk is the money maker. Instead of calling a meeting to settle all the beef, he kept trying to rearrange things to avoid conflict and it didn’t work. This is why you have to handle conflict directly when you’re the boss. You can’t run away from it and you can’t avoid it. You have to deal with it immediately. Otherwise, the problem won’t go away and it’ll actually become worse.
@iamYANYEZ
@iamYANYEZ 4 ай бұрын
@@Jeff_Pryce I agree Tony probably isn't the greatest handler of conflict. But it doesn't really matter. You don't get a free pass to "take it into your own hands" because you don't like the management style - especially when your means is physical assault. That's ALSO a very poor way to handle conflict. As for Punk wanting to be gone - of course he did, he only cares about getting paid. He wanted to walk with his money. And everyone would be trash talking Tony if he had never tried to bring him back after Brawl Out and just paid him to leave and ate all that cash. Punk and his fans just refuse to admit his faults along the way and it's annoying. Did Hangman start the whole thing by going off script and being unprofessional? Yes. Was Punk's response to that less professional than what Hangman did and did it escalate the situation? Also yes. Both are true. it's not one of the other. Punk is also very much responsibility for all of these debacles. He's not a victim.

If what Punk said is true, AEW set him up. If Tony told him there was going to be separation between shows and all the guys who don't get along with him are on the other shows, what was Jack Perry, a friend of the EVPs, doing on the Punk show on Friday? It's like someone was trying to start something, and then conveniently, Jack, who Phil said he actually liked, is sitting in a rental car about to do something he knows CM Punk won't like. What did they think was going to happen? Punk is a guy who doesn't handle disrespect well and they baited him.

The biggest takeaway I got from this is that it's obvious that CM Punk uses Jim Cornette as an advocate since he couldn't speak out about these issues. Cornette said ALLLL of these things on Punks behalf while Punk was still with AEW and I used to wonder how tf he knew this shit lol. But it's obvious now that he probably fed Cornette this information through the grapevine or through their lawyer. Punk saying that he listens to the Experience and the Drive Thru on Monday Night RAW basically confirmed this for me lmao. And before ppl get upset, I dont agree with everything Corny says, but you can't deny that he still has an amazing mind for professional wrestling.
