And one of the stupidest components of all this that I don't see that many people talking about is how much this hurts their overall product by trying to blend kayfabe with behind-the-scenes events... "We can't tolerate this kind of violent behaviour between employees and the fostering of an unsafe work environment. If they wanted to fire Punk for assaulting a co-worker, that's within their rights to do. That is ultimately what happened, whether it was in a bank or not. The part I find funny is just how the people who hate Punk are pretending this was some unhinged, unprecedented violent backstage attack. Punk shoved the guy a couple of times and put him in a choke for a few seconds before being pulled apart, then angrily pointed at Tony and walked away. This wasn't even the first ever backstage fight at AEW - Sammy Guevara has gotten into it with a couple of guys. He hasn't been fired. If they had any leadership in the locker room, they would've squashed things before they exploded and gone on to use the heat to make money. Christ, according to Punk he even ASKED Tony to do something about it.
