He is my Mom's most favorite singer too. I got her hooked on his music & that of Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Johnny Reid, Keith Urban, & others. Like my Mom, my oldest nephew has that in common with her. Alan is his most favorite country singer too & their favorite song is Chattahoochee. Congrats to Alan & the many well-deserved artists who have been inducted. Now, if only we could get them to induct many other well-deserved ones alongside Alan, Marty, etc...

Amazing to watch this! Alan Jackson has always been my favorite. I have listened to him and went to every concert of his in my area. I only missed one concert when my husband had open heart surgery in 2002. Admire his loyalty to country music.

really like Jerry reed listen to him just about everyday on way to work and back home he deserves to be in the hall for sure wish he was still here I live in Nashville I never met him but heard he was a good man a guy I use to work with said his wife work in a restaurant Jerry came in a lot and could tell she was pregnant and gave her a $100.00 tip and told her it for you and the baby I was all ready a fan hear this story made me even a bigger fan R.I.P Jerry

I agree. They wait way too long to induct them. They wait until most of them are dead before they even consider them. Never mind actually induct them & that is pretty sad. There are sooooo many that are way overdue too & sadly once again, those artists are dead too. It's awful. Here is a long list of my own that I know for a fact that should've been in there a looooong time ago & some that should be in there in time. It's funny you mention 1989, that happens to be the year that Alan, Vince Gill, Clint Black, Garth Brooks & many others all came out on CMT for the 1st time. Then in 1991, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, Trisha Yearwood, John Michael Montgomery, Brooks & Dunn, & many others all came out on CMT for the 1st time. Those 3 years were very busy & so many new artists hit the big time then, it was hard to pick a favorite. There was so much selection to choose from. Like most, they all worked very hard to get there & some aren't as lucky as others are. Some are in their 30s or so before they finally get their due. Some are just young kids like LeAnn Rimes & Tanya Tucker were, etc... Everybody's journey is different, therefore, their story is different also. I've always been a huge fan of all of them & many others too. Thanks to them & their great music & entertainment throughout my lifetime, they have all brought a lot of healing, happiness, etc.... to both myself & many others out there too. Life wouldn't be the same without them & their music.
