Today's video is perfect for a lazy Sunday - a lovely, lyrical rag by Archie Scheu, who only composed a handful of pieces in his lifetime. Though he largely wasn't a professional musician, Scheu did enjoy some success (both this rag and "Percy" were recorded by the John Philip Sousa band under Arthur Pryor!) Thank you! I'm a much stronger sight-reader than I am at playing by ear so I always start with the sheet music. I'll memorize things that I want to keep in my repertoire, and add some embellishments to them over time.
