FYI: You can build most of the DBS listed in the description in Colonia at Jaques Station but you'll need to pick up the Collector Limpet and Recon Limpet controller at Colonia Hub. Also for farming HGE's. If you reverse just a tiny bit before hitting the boost to enter SC you dont have to do the loop around. It will place the HGE site right in front of you

Thank you for this! While I've already been using some of those tips, some of them are new to me. I've been living in the Colonia region (Benzaiten system, specificially) for 4 years now. I LOVE Colonia and I hate it anytime I need to come back to the bubble.
@Exigeous4 жыл бұрын
That's great to hear, especially as I don't get to spend a ton of time out there (wish I could spend more). What other challenges do you face out there that are different enough from the bubble (like this) to warrant other videos?
@cetifoxproductions4 жыл бұрын
@@Exigeous You really hit the big ones. I try to caution anyone looking to come out here to unlock the necessary engineers in the bubble first. While pinned blueprints are great, you need the engineers to apply experimental effects. I think you already have a video on getting the Colonia engineers unlocked.
@Exigeous4 жыл бұрын
I in fact do (on the Colonia engineers) and agree that unlocking at least the key ones (the first 5) before you come out is important. For the core modules you can skip the optionals for the most part, but they are pretty important on the weapons (which you can fortunately get most of in Colonia)

I've been in Colonia since Horizons. Unfortunately, I left the Bubble without engineering, so now I'm faced with the prospect of having to return to enable engineers. I've been putting it off, but with the recent engineering/materials leveling in 18.08 it seems that this is something I'm just going to have to do. My biggest complaint/down on ED is that it forces you to start any path for engineering in the Bubble and most of the original "grinds" force you to remain there to get the requisite components required. I could sort of understand this when there were no engineers based in the Colonia region. However, as long as engineers have been available in the Colonia region, it makes no sense for ED to continue to force commanders to start the engineering path in the Bubble if they are not based there. IMO - YMMV

Great vid as always. As of Jan 2021 the data method wont work as megaships in colonia don’t have recon limpit docking ports (at least on console). A alternative is the medical facility in azura. @ Exigeous - how would you say the efficiency compares for harvesting encoded and raw mats, with the rate they can be done at in the bubble?
@MAtthew66264 жыл бұрын
No idea on efficiency of those in bubble, why would you go farm that? The rate in which you get the materials is the same as in bubble. Only difference is you will not be able to obtain certain materials like imperial shielding and core dynamics comp, because there is only limited states out there. I remember finding some core dyn.comp. but you can not rely on that. This just means bit more trading and bit more gathering to get enough of these mats. I hope that helps

It's been about 6 months for me too, that's what others have told me. Does anyone know of a good mining system near colonia?
@Exigeous4 жыл бұрын
For Painite yes, there are a few overlapping hotspots in the region - you can use the Miner tool at edtools.ddns.net/miner to find them. While it only pays around 550,000/ton with laser mining you could still making something in the 100-125 Million CR/HR out there given how quickly you can acquire it with something big like a Type-9. Please see my previous guide on mining painite in overlapping hotspots.
@cetifoxproductions4 жыл бұрын
@@Exigeous I STILL find Low Temp Diamond mining to be the best money maker. While I do use the miner tool and eddb.io to look for systems, I pretty much keep tripping over rich systems completely by random. Everything's so CLOSE together and no gankers.
