The repair ALL is actually repair MOST. You need to go to the repairs screen and repair the integrity of the hull.

#2 Stations don't scan you, it's the cops flying around. #10 They work, just as they work against human players. You still appear on sensors as an unresolved track, but you can't be targeted. #17 That's a myth that just won't die. #37 Point defence won't target your missiles/mines/limpets or those fired by friendlies. #45 Again, it's not stations that scan you, it's the cops near them. But the faster you fly, the harder for them to keep their scanning distance of 1 Km.

Here's a good candidate for one more because I only learned it today: If you target something collectable while using collector limpets, a limpet will collect that thing and die. If you don't target collectables, the limpets will keep collecting nearby things until they reach the end of their lifespan. I have been using the collector limpets for a long time and didn't know this. This is probably because in the past I mostly used them for mining and never targeted the fragments, but now have started to use them for manufactured material collecting too and sometimes try to collect some of them manually as my collectors get the other things. Also to sound extra knowledgeable, you could have dropped the term "main sequence" to #14 somewhere. Not entirely accurate as red giants are scoopable too, IIRC, but they are rare.
@Exigeous6 жыл бұрын
Limpets, etc. - added to the list for my next 50 (or whatever). Also totally correct about scoopables in #14 - how dare I, right?? ;-)

Like the 200m/s limit for which stations can't scan you. I would just dump heats inks and go into silent running. But then again I don't trust myself to fly a loaded passenger beluga shield less through a mailslot going 200+ hahahaha

@nikisepps6 жыл бұрын
@@Exigeous I would say you can go for it, for the sake of completeness. Its nice to not have to go and read Stu's guide to engineering or AA's guide to engineering PvP ships to figure out what's worth it and what's not worth it. Some of the later engineers seem kinda not worth it. But some do. If you want my honest opinion...I'd love to see you try to make videos about non-meta builds and point out why certain things work. The reason I say this was because on the Facebook Elite group today, some guy was saying why anyone would bother with the FDL if the Challenger was better in everyway. Turns out he is not a PvPer, just PvE. And while that style of gameplay is great, I think its important for people to understand how the game mechanics work when taken to their limit in a full PvP build. EVEN if they're not going to actually build such ships. For example. I've heard that E rated shield boosters are a thing...and work in some specialist builds. I've also heard that Clean Drives use a lot less power and run far cooler. I mean I know that clean drives run cooler and E shield boosters exist. BUT! Would it be possible for you to build a few example ships with such "non-meta" modules? Perhaps explain why such modules might be very situational and why they really aren't optimal? Just trying to give you ideas. I mean if I hadn't checked out the statistics myself, I would have thought that MRPs were the way to go rather than Guardian. Because I used to think MRPs were engineerable and thus immediately better than Guardian modules. I was stunned to learn that MRPs couldn't be engineered and thus, should you have the extra power, Guardian ones were becoming the new meta. At least in some cases. Clean drives seems to be appealing for a very heavy rail gun build or Beam build. Mostly because of less power and heat. Thus, Clean drives could be viable on a twin APA focused Vulture with a Biweave. MAYBE Exigeous, I'm talking out of my ass. Its likely all I just mentioned is utter garbage at PvP but it might just provide an edge above PvE ships. Kinda like the intermediate playstyle between a full on PvP league ship, and the semi engineered PvE ships most players in Elite have. Just throwing ideas out. I love your content, see ya in the black!

The mail slot faces the planet and 30 degrees above the equator. While fuel scooping, if you go above 65% heat, the !-triangle icon will appear in the top right. As long as you're above that temperature, your temp will keep rising - it will never be stable while scooping above 65%.

On combat logging at 2:10, the first time I played open, some dude threatened to report me over “combat logging” when I just dropped into a nav beacon. His logic was that “if they drop off my contacts, they MUST be a logger”, then he started messaging me a bunch of passive aggressive shit. Once he realized I didn’t actually log, his tone changed. I told him he was ruining my first open experience (not really, but I knew it’d make him feel bad).

Yeah, that's a tough one as for those of us that get logged on a lot - and when I pirate that happens constantly when I'm not even firing - they/we tend to be really sensitive to it. I'm glad to hear his tone changed - but clearly he shouldn't have acted that way in the first place. I hope you've continued to play in Open and have found that save for the really dangerous systems like Shinrarta it's rare you even see another commander let alone get attacked.

The FDL also has 4 large hard points, not just type 10 unless FDL wasn’t out 2 years ago, which I’m pretty sure it was

Knew some, but eyes opened because of a few I didn't know (like B-rated fuel scoops!).

I wasn't aware of the synergy between the Guardian PP and PD. And some of the details about a couple of the weapons I wouldn't have been able to recall exactly, although I'd heard them before. I guess I've spent far too much time on this game, lol.

Holy crap, as a noob I had to pause and think about 1/2 the facts to actually understand them and try to memorize them. Thank you.
