the music adds tension, like if I'm trapped behind enemy lines and I really need to unshrink my sweater

The extra tension from the music is necessary to effectively stretch the sweater

I saw a couple after you stretch it out don’t drain the water leave it in the water for 30 minutes to an hour. Then rise out the water n let it dry outside. This process worked for me.

When you lay sweater out flat; first put a heavy towel on top and blot out more water . Then, stretch out and put heavy objects around edges so that it will not shrink back any at all.

I wash my nordic, Norwegian and aran fisherman sweaters in the machine all the time with great results. #1-use front load machines with no agitator in the middle. #2- use woolite or hair conditioner #3- cold water only #4-wash on delicate cycle #5-"DO NOT PUT IN DRYER" #6-stretch and shape to your liking #7-lay flat or place on rungs of an air dryer ( I have quit a few so I wash several at a time). Take care of your sweaters and they will last a very long time!

Hey man thanks for sharing. I'm hoping I can just stretch a large out a bit as I'm tall and have got fatter but I've found such a good deal for a large size 40 German pure wool jumper so I'm just going to have at it!

Wool and other natural animal fibers will felt with heat, moisture and agitation. Wool also will insulate when wet, unlike cotton or artificial fibers. You can get superwash wool that is treated so it is less likely to felt. I know things like this from crafting. Cashmere comes from goats and it is just about the most effective at insulating. You might find people that like to knit because we love to find victims. To dry items faster, you can also roll in a dry towel and press.

Can we use shampoo instead of conditioner?
@thesurvivaluniversity5 жыл бұрын
No, you need the conditioner as it is what loosen up the fibers
@geoffreycolpitts81634 жыл бұрын
Just baby shampoo. Or vinegar or borax. It makes sense - baking soda is a shampoo replacement, but vinegar is a conditioner replacement. This according to wiki-how.

A question, if i may. Shall i use the laundry machine to wash it, or i must wash it by hand?
@caesix6 жыл бұрын
I highly recommend doing it by hand, and avoiding too hot water. Or if your laundry machine has a mode that's quite short you could do it in the laundry too :)
@vardellsfolly52006 жыл бұрын
@@caesix Another question, if i may and you are kind! Can i increase the length of the sleeves of a not shrunken clothe by using this method?
@caesix6 жыл бұрын
@@vardellsfolly5200 haha okay well for some reason my reaction got deleted so here it is again: Tough one! I think it depends on the material. For wool, I think it must be possible but I'm not quite sure if the piece of cloth would end up as nice as it was beforehand. If it's a new piece of cloth you could always return it to the store and get a larger size though. Me myself I just recently bought a new sweater and without thinking for too long I put it in the laundry machine (even on low temperature!). It still had shrunken a bit so that's why I highly recommend washing it by hand from now on
you can always take a shower with it, stretch it for perfect fit as its wet on you

thanks dude, will this work with 100% cotton sweaters too?
@charactersmoreorthree5 жыл бұрын
It might, but the reason hair conditioner works on wool is that both hair and wool are made of keratin. Cotton, on the other hand, is a plant fiber, so the properties are different, so I'd do a search to see if it worked before trying.
