Thank you David and Jason for sharing this discussion. It was lightheaded, witty, funny, and sprinkled with golden nuggets from genuine experiences. Thanks again to you both.

I wish you had gone more into the types of strategies and styles of the various traders, and their personalities/process. Otherwise it's a good interview and I appreciate it Jason.

Whatever your strategy is, you need to answer the question whether your results are (good or bad) are simply the result of pure chance rather than knowledge/skill or anything nonrandom. I don't see anybody even trying to answer this question. If you don't know the answer to this question then your gains may make a uturn tomorrow and you won't know what to do.

so true. is not easy to stick to your edge and discipline. it takes years of experience, psychology and confidence to go through a period of seeing no edge in the market and keep watching for opportunities.

You can absolutely run a beta neutral (uncorrelated) book and make significant money. That’s because there are always sectors, commodities, currencies in decline and in rallies. I run puts and calls about in equal balance and am up 30% this year with a sharpe ratio of 31, so it can be done, examples, was long PLTR and CFLT and had puts on CHTR, just a few trades that played both sides successfully even in a “bull market”.

David was head of my group when I was at Carlin Financial Group and then at RBC Capital Markets when they bought us...this was pre-GFC

Very useful 🙏🙏🙏 It'd be great to have David on again. Feels like we just scratched the surface - meaning: I think he has a lot more to teach us

I wish those type of firms would train remote traders as well, highly motivated but no legit firms in my country that train aspiring traders.. Anyway, Enjoyed the interview, thanks for sharing!

Jason went from 600 over 250 to manage 4 millions. And probably a divorce in between. A lesson to remember, stay strong guys.

great interview. it would be nice to get a clearer picture of *how* to get into a firm like this if you are newer to trading and starting from 0.

the most diffcult time as as new trader is finding a edge. as new trader myself too. I question myself alot before why people using this method or what is their special techinical indiactor to help their sucess? To me is a stupid question I can't never get an answer, Now I have changed. Instead of learning how they do it so sucessful , I would ask myself if i want to be like them so sucessuful, How would I do it.

@@robertlu5117 how do you know the edge you think you have is a actually an edge and not something you simply imagining?
