When I was a young kid we used to go and visit my grandparents in Hamilton. They lived on Avondale Street near some railroad tracks. Every morning we would see a passenger train go by. Dark red diesel engine and matching dark red cars. On the engine and cars it said, Lehigh Valley. Also remember freight trains going down those tracks pulled by steam locomotives. I'm 76 now and still remember that.

@@allvaticinator I grew up in Oakville, Ontario, near the CN main line and would often see TH&B trains. I don't recall hearing that though.

Great stuff...in the early 50's our yard in what was then Bartonville backed on to the TH&B line. My dad's cousin Reg Button would come out for a visit & to take pictures of the passing trains.

Beach Rd. & Ottawa St. was a great place to see trains in 1970 , I may have single handily necessitated the need for Enclosed Auto Carrier , ya see the Vietnam War was raging on and we needed something to bomb , honestly I'm $ure I was NOT the only kid launching $idewinder'$ at FORD & GM'$ latest offering'$.....they should have built us kids BMX & SK8BOARD PARK'$ , we may not have hung around RR TRACK'$ in Hamiltoon Ont. ?

Thanks for watching, all of the audio on this program was dubbed in manually from our sound FX library. For the most part you will hear accurate sounds from 1980s video recordings from Rob McCormack (Canrail) that were dubbed in!

Yes. Go Transit was testing them in the early years which led to the Bombardier bi-levels we see in use today.
