I still like this video a lot after 7 years later i since I first watch this video especially the locomotive engine sound

Thanks for your comments, Brenton! I have also seen trains have an engine at the end of a long line of cars, esp. with heavy weight like coal but this one NEAR the end was unusual. And yes, in the bigger cities, you sure will see alot more graffiti than in small towns. Some of it is actually quite artistic but it is still illegal vandalism and quite costly for the railroads which means they will only repaint where needed like you said and leave the rest. Love your Wisconsin videos and thanks!

I found that kind of interesting too. I've heard of mid train helpers but this one was a bit closer to the end like you said. It's pretty common for the coal trains around here to have a unit at the very end to aid in train handling. The graffiti is a problem, especially in the yards in big cities like Chicago. A lot of times the railroads will repaint the reporting marks and other info on the cars if it's been covered, and simply leave the rest of the graffiti.

Another interesting train video and thanks for sharing! Interesting that there is an engine near the end of the train and NOT at the end of the train like I have seen before. Why is this? Does it have to do with the weight of pulling all the cars? I also now see so much more graffiti on trains than in decades past. I guess the railroads do not bother to paint over the mess as I am sure it is VERY costly and unless you have security watching the cars, the vandalism will continue. Too bad.

Yes.

Nope. That's just a piece of gate arm with a cable running through it, suspended by two posts, used to block the railroad's access road.

I didn't know they closed Colgate Road. I shot a video there a few years ago and never got around to uploading it. I'll have to dig out my old Mini-DV camera and see if I can find it.

I believe there's another one north of CTH K, between Slinger and Allenton. I don't know the name of the road, but you can see it from Highway 41.

Did this crossing ever get gates?
@Brenton819 жыл бұрын
+train gamer Yeah, a year or two ago.
@evanwaters10749 жыл бұрын
Brenton81 That explains the gate sitting there.
@Brenton819 жыл бұрын
+train gamer What you see in this video is just a little piece of gate arm with a cable run through it, strung up between two posts. It was being used as a barrier to keep cars off the little access road along the tracks. There wasn't any work or preparation being done for the new signals when I shot this video.
@evanwaters10749 жыл бұрын
Brenton81 Gotcha. Will you be going back to this location to get the gates in action?
@Brenton819 жыл бұрын
+train gamer Yeah. I drove out there a couple times this summer to try and catch something but there didn't seem to be any trains in the area, so no video.
