It is always good to have a financial plan. I work with a portfolio manager and fixed income planner in the USA. The fixed income portion of your portfolio won’t simply serve as a buffer to the volatility of the equity portion of your portfolio, but will provide legitimate income.

This is very true! A lot of people downplay the role of a financial planner until burnt by their mistakes. After my last job layoff, I had to stay afloat, hence researched for licensed fiduciary advisors. Thankfully, I came across someone of practical knowledge and experience. My reserve fund of $225k has yielded nearly $1.3 million after subsequent investments so far.

I’ve shuffled through a few financial experts in the past but settled with Mr. CHRIS RYAN STEWART.

His strategy is recession proof, more specifically profit-oriented and most likely you’ll find his basic information on the net. He’s a very well known advisor.

This is useful information; I copied his full name and pasted it into my browser; his website popped up top search and his qualifications are excellent. Thanks for sharing.

2022 was a hell of a year, I have made $350,000 before taxes as the sole breadwinner and head of household. This is a great starting point and I’m very aware how blessed we are to be in this position, but I’m always looking ahead on how to improve. I currently have $88K left in student loans (originally close to $150K) and very little credit card debt (less than $2K with more than $25K available). I have two auto loans totaling $170K for two electric vehicles at 5% interest. I will appreciate suggestions from anyone who has been in same shoes on how to go about them.

You may want to start somewhere different, like the snowball method, where you focus on one loan, usually the smallest one, and direct all of your resources to pay off that loan while maintaining payments on the others.

You want to work with a money coach or financial planner, although a financial planner will concentrate on long term, a money coach will help you with paying off all of your debts, maximize your cash flow and help you create systems and processes to direct your money proactively.

I have thought about this, but what is the major difference between a money coach & financial advsior?

A financial adviser could help too to create a more holistic plan for your money. They can assist you in the creation of both short and long-term goals and then help you by giving guidance on the financial decisions and opportunities you are presented with.

I’ve honestly been considering going the route of an advisor, this current market is no jokes for the average retail investor, but do they really make any notable changes to a portfolio or am I better off on my own?

SSB is capped at $200k per citizen. It can be withdrawn at any time if you need liquidity. SGS and Tbills do not have this withdrawal option. .

If you suddenly got an influx of cash, not a bad idea to just put in these safe instruments that you can take out anytime after you have learned how not to burn it all

Prof Tay, the government’s decision to promote public housing as an asset has resulted in three interrelated problems. Firstly, the government has trapped itself in a situation where the affordability and asset value of Housing Development Board (HDB) flats cannot go up, resulting in a deterioration of value over time.

Prof Tay believes that the current situation is worrying for the government, which fears that retirees will be angry that they cannot recover the full value of their property and may vote against the government.

Secondly, many Singaporeans have all their life savings tied up in their flats and are hoping to recover their investment when they retire or downsize, but are likely to suffer a loss in price recovery. Finally, young people who are entering the property market are trapped in a debt cycle and cannot risk entrepreneurial ventures because they have to pay off their mortgages.

Don't put all your money to the govt. Best to give foreign banks (e.g Malaysia) with high interest rates

If you believe your stupid Lim Kit Siang DAP who always tell the world that Malaysia is going bankrupt since 1969, then by all means believe his bullshit to demonize the country. Mind you, he is the main instigator in 1969 racial riots for instigating the Chinese community back then@@1965Singaporean

Malaysian banks fixed deposit (RHB, Maybank, CIMB) is highest among all the banks available in Singapore, even higher than Bank of China. The 3 local banks (DBS, OCBC,UOB) offer the lowest rates for FD despite being local in SG.@Unique8802
