In addition to this, Rs 1000 has been provided per family for 1 year. This means that one family of five people are entitled to 55kgs of free ration every month. Also on a very subsidised rate , for example Rs 1 per kg, food is provided to the ones in need. School children are provided free meals at school all over the country for the past 15 years. I feel sorry for the people of other countries who are unfortunate to be born there.

To off-topic people talking about laborers being exploited in Singapore... would you rather richer nations like Singapore NOT offer jobs to laborers who might be jobless or earning a fraction of the money back at home? We can't say they have a fantastic quality of life being laborers in a foreign land, but this is at least one more option for them, and a practical way for money to flow back to poorer communities and countries from places where there is demand for labor. If the situation was great back home no one would voluntarily leave their own country and family. Sure, it's not a perfect system; middle-men have always been exploitative and the laborers probably could earn more than they are getting now. The SG government also has a lot of self-examination to do regarding welfare of foreign workers here. But the workers are not slaves; they decided this was their best chance of a better life under hard circumstances, and talking as if they are a commodity being exploited is highly disrespectful and demeaning to them as well.

Pakistan is in this condition today because of the military establishment. It is a textbook definition of a banana republic where all aid and loan dollars are usurped by the military establishment (115 Billion dollars external loan to date), with some share given to political elite and the bill of the debt given to the poor public that comprise of people like the "60 year old Ashar Mehmood" who earns $60 a month working 8 hours x 7 days a week i.e. making a whopping $720 dollars per year salary and that too after reaching near retirement age. $60/month for a 60 year old, isn't it fantastic. The reason he is making such an enormous salary is because there is no business, no education, no medical no schooling for the poor in Pakistan. When army takes half the export income of the entire country as their budget which is about $8-10 Billion dollars a year and spares only 150 Million dollars for education of the entire country what else is there to expect? If at least the nation was given enough budget for education, they could have helped in exporting more goods and services but no, military can't allow that. It makes them unstable. On top of the budget, the army runs each and every profitable organization in the country be it the government, judiciary, media, banks, cement factory, fertilizer factory, oil/gas, sugar mills, milk farms, housing schemes, restaurants, shopping malls, security services, construction companies, textile, Cereals, Power companies and even meat. Nowadays their retired Generals have all started making KZbin videos as it pays, and where ever there is money, there is military. I can't see what is left for the public to do but to work for $60/month, 7 days a week and even that opportunity seems like is gone.
