It worked when I built it yesterday. Try doing the orientation fix under the video responses. That, and timing of the redstone repeaters is crucial. Had a wrong one on mine and it broke the entire thing. Also, when I built the door, I had made a new world to test it out. Not sure if older worlds from prior updates have different redstone rules.

Very impressive! I've tried inventing a whole new way to do this but I never figured it out. The biggest piston door I can do is a 3x3. Again though, very nice, simple, and fast design.

Thanks for the quick response, it solved the problem with the 4 iron blocks that were left in the middle when opening, but closing still doesn't work. After closing it opens up again. Thanks eitherway

absolutely an amazing creation! But who would have been able to guess they'd change piston timings? I'm just glad I've been able to provide a quick and incredibly easy solution to their north-south entering 4x4 doors. As for the east-west doors my brain starts to hurt a little :p

I know why that is, I should of included it in the fix as well but I didn't. Badically the t-flip flop is broken in 1.3 as well, to fix this, see the repeater at 3:16? that is on 2 ticks of delay, make that one delay to fix it! Glad I could help

@MinecraftLover247 He said that if you lead a repeater into the block where the button currently is, it would still work. Then the button can be moved anywhere with a simple redstone line. :)

It does. I was getting an effect of an open piston, even that it was unpowered. I added one more tick of delay in the section of 6 repeaters, that are sending signal one to each other. The authors delay is 4, 4, 4, 4, 0, 0; while I made 4, 4, 4, 4, 1, 0. Everything is working fine now!

@714spoon At 3:26 he puts a repeater facing outwards form the red whool. And you need to put the second redstone-dust on the left side of it, in this moment. Or at 3:30 you have to put it on the right side of the repeater between the piston and the first redstone-dust. (hope you know what i mean, if not write an other comment... xD)

I'm very sorry to hear that, one thing you can do is build it again while making sure you follow his steps PRECISELY. Be sure to check in which direction it is build (north/south or east/west) to know which video you should follow. Also, are you building it on a Multiplayer Server or with any Mods added to the game? They could interrupt your mechanism.

Its funny, no matter how many times I build this design, I have to watch the video and do it step by step :P It amazes me how CNB knows where ever block goes. I will never understand the logic behind redstone and repeaters etc :P

aso as of dec , piston timings and glowstone properties changed in most cases for retractors etc its a simple 1 tik fix on the repeaters so if the double extender jambs the repeater that goes to them just add a tik

Just as a comment, I just followed this tutorial on 1.2.5 and it worked like a charm, I opened an closed the door many times and one of those times when it tried to open it 4 blocks got stuck in the middle in the shape of a T, but I closed it and opend it again and it hasnt done it again since...

Pistons have new timings in 12w27a snapshot. They used to be 1 redstone tick (2 gametime ticks), but now they are 1½ redstone ticks or 3 gametime ticks. This is because of sand generators.

good video. This system work in 1.2.5 version (I just test it few minutes ago). You just need to follow exactly what he explain (without beleving that the way you do it also work, which is maybe not true). Don't forget to read the description and you will be warned about the orientation problem. So, yeah, it work great. I will test it on a server, so I will see if it work on it or no. people who think this video is not good or your having trouble getting it to work make sure and check your repeaters because if they are backwards it will not work... took me like five minuets to see what i did wrong with mine hope this helped :)

The problem is the outline of the door is conducting from the torches, frame the door with obsidian and the door works fine. upvote this so people can see. Just tested it and it works great with obsidian frame around the door itself.

Put a repeater in front of the block that he showed you (the red one) and then just run redstone dust from the repeater to your button or whatever. Remember redstone wire can only be 14 blocks long so if you go over the limit put a repeater down on the 12/13th block and continue the wire.

@117n00b2 thats not why it doesnt work. The input powers a t-flipflop which in turn powers the rest of thr system. A continuous input should work tho impractical since it isnt controling the pistons

People with problems in 1.2.5 the thing is that the door has to be facing east/west and the pink circuit has to be away from the other circuits in order to work.

i just built this in 1.2.5 and it does work. Maybe youve made a mistake somewhere in this very complex circuit. The only time that something hasn't worked was when I made a mistake.

Break the button, repeater facing where button was then a block behind that, then you can branch off red stone wire from the other 3 direction of the block. Don't put redstone wire on top of the block I told you to put. You still have to use buttons.

I have an Xbox too and had trouble but I figured it out, at 12:17 when he places a dot of redstone place one there but also put a block down next to the one that redstone is on and put redstone on it so you have a line of redstone going towards the torch, do that on both sides and you should be fine

it was created in MCedit, use MCEdit from Github to open the world and save the door as a -whatever you want-.schematic then open it in an Anvil world

If you're one of the persons that are playing Minecraft Xbox360 Version and you cant get the door to work. Theres one simple solution. At 12.16, he's placing redstone dust. To get the door to work in the Xbox 360 version; simply just place one block above that redstone dust, so it forms into a cross. There you have it. Fully operational door. (You may need to do the orientation fix though.) Thumbs up so more people can get this to work on the Xbox 360 version!

well if you build the door like in the video, using my fix, it will work (if your door is facing east-west and all the other repeaters are correct) the closing problem is exactly the one when you are building your door north-south facing. in this case use cnbs fix with my fix on the state cell -S

To anyone who is trying to build this, when I built it, I messed up at first (middle blocks wouldnt be removed) just look through your timings. the only thing I got wrong was the repeater right after the T-flip-flop, I had it set to 1 instead of 4, that killed the whole thing, so most likely if its not working something small is wrong with it.

Correction, repeater has only 4 sets, so authors set was 4 4 4 4 1 1, and mine is 4 4 4 4 2 1 (or 3,3,3,3,0,0 and 3,3,3,3,1,0)

REDSTONE UPDATE: This was a great tip but now with Title Update 7 this is no longer needed. Door should work just fine with no modifications. Unless its North/South facing. Just a heads up.

Theres a really easy fix to it. In the Beginning T-flip-flop there's two repeaters. One was palced on two ticks. just turn that one to 1 tick and it should be fixed. Honestly it took me forever to figure that out :P

i fixed it. both repeaters on 3:13 have to be on no delay. works fine on 1.3.1 (Singe- and Multiplayer) like if u want other people to find this rly fast solution (u didnt even have to break a single block)

To fix it in 1.3.1 just go to the red circuit and the repeater running into the piston for the pulse limiter change from 2 ticks to 1 tick :))

Just worked this out. Keep the block in place, just take the button off it. Then put a repeater pointed into the block. Run redstone into it as normal.

@999Seriously the world was made with MCEdit, it won't be compatible with Anvil. I know, it sucks =( . Just import the door to another world and it will/should work. Get MCEdit from Github and it will be compatible with Anvil =D .

I HAVE A FIX FOR 1.5.2! 1.Do the West/East fix. 2. 4:47 Those repeaters should be at 2 ticks 3. 5:30 Those 2 repeaters should be at 2 ticks 4. 7: 46 The repeater on 3 should be 2 5. 11:50 There should be 3 repeaters with 1 tick, NOT 2

Same, the middle-left two blocks will NOT get pulled back. The pistons that SHOULD take them, just don't fire. I am running Minecraft 1.2.5.

Alright heres the story. I turns out that when Jeb updated to 1.2.5 something messed up the timers (ticks) on redstone. Maybe he will fix it later or CMB will patch it. Either way this design dosent work in the current mc.

For some reason the second sticky piston placed while creating the red curcuit does not leave the block over the hole with the redstone torch, it does what a sticky piston does and brings it back.
