Inflation is destroying our backs. We are working like dogs(overtime) in order to pay our bills. UPS is purposely laying off people to freak people out while at the same time they generated 23,000,000,000.00 dollars in the first 1/4. All we are asking for is a higher wage, no forcing us to work a 6th day, and protect our pension. CAT company just gave their workers a 30 percent raise, that sounds about fair.

Propaganda during contract negotiations. UPS is making money hand over fist. Her salary alone was over 20 million last yr . She is transforming UPS into something ugly. The Teamsters are the only thing keeping this company recognizable. Not everyone at UPS is a driver. There are many who work in warehouses. And it's poverty work. Side note.. drivers and full time warehouse workers don't get see their kids grow up and everyone at some point has to get shoulder, knees, or back surgery. It's extremely hard work and with the current cost of living..its not as lucrative as it once was. Management looks down and treats its hard working members as expendable animals. Enough is enougn.

I know this a business channel just workers make business go, so why not interview UPS/Teamster workers. If UPS cared about the customers, then why haven’t they update their information on the times UPS customer counter are open. My second or third year, I failed my physical to go driving cuz my right eye has a weak optic nerve and HR said I was a “liability if something happened to my left eye”. For the last 16 years I have worked two jobs just so I can get by. At my hub it takes a long time to go full time other than driving. So UPS can pay up. That stinks for those who got cut. The work needs to be done, but it's less people doing it now. And a big issue is that the supervisors do a lot of our work. They cut hours and do our work so we essentially lose money. I think this matter really needs to be addressed. Also, a certain number of hours are needed each quarter to maintain the health insurance. I started working at UPS last year as a preloader and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the games that they are playing there. The hold up is part time wages. 1st There are part timers with 5-6 years seniority making 18-19 dollars and hour. The company offers new hires a starting wage of $20-23/hr. So you have a situation where you have veterans, that worked through COVID, making less than new hires. 2nd the company will then turn around and tell the veterans it’s the union’s fault they’re making less than the new hires. 3rd at around the 6 month mark for new hires the company will lower their wages from $20-23/hr to $16.50/hr. Why? Because at the 6 month mark they have to start paying them benefits and those new hires get to join the union. So ups wants them gone asap. UPS wants a bunch temp/gig workers for their part time operations, the union doesn’t. As if there’s no new hires to replace the retiring union members, that will slowly erode the union membership and power. That’s the 100% truth!

@@z4ck709 So?? Air drivers do the same job and make less, when I went to pkg I was classified as PT, yet drove FT hours and made less. The point is, 22.4s are FT! That is time vested towards your pension that you would otherwise not have had it not been for those created positions. Everyone said they would never become RPCDs, yet every 22.4 in my hub from 5yrs ago is now a RPCD. That’s 1-5yrs of vested FT towards their pension that they would not have if not for the 22.4 positions. How is that a bad thing?? It’s a flexible position for the company when volume ebbs and flows to help alleviate over dispatching the regular senior drivers. The company can use them as drivers or as hub workers as the volume dictates. It’s basically a cover driver position, like I was, but it’s a FT classification. She probably hasn't worked hard 15:34 day in her life. Has she ever delivered a day in her life?.....no. Let's see her put on browns and actually del for a week give her the diad and go in the blind. That's what they do anyway. She's been there 3 years yeah she knows the ins and outs of the company. How did she leave the last company she worked for? Yes it's a high paying job but we actually earn it the bull crap in the mornings is giving for free. Why can't she tell the truth that they cut runs over load the driver, leave the building late up to an hour or later but yet you want us to deliver next day air until 10:30. If a package is damaged you still want us to deliver it. When it's raining the hardware sits out in the rain. Why? We sit in building waiting on late air when we already have some air in the building and those people who could get it on time don't and when they call to get reimbursed for shipping they don't. What about when you get hurt on the job and if you make a report they write you up for not following methods. If they want you gone they'll come up with something. Why don't you fix the time allowance on the runs? I asked for a time study for years but you want do it because work would have to be pulled off another run created and a new employee. You want do that because that means another truck on road, employee, insurance on both and gas. Why don't you tell them you only let X amount of runs on the road a day. That you cut the part timers running stuff in the morning. To me she's overpaid on something she either doesn't understand or doesn't care. Have you actually ever talked to the employees I'm talking the backbone of the company the drivers? You need to you need to go to different hubs and for once actually talk to drivers one on one go unannounced and surprise everyone even management but that will never happen. I as well could go on and on. In closing we know this was pre-planned and rehearsed. I'm sorry I don't believe what she's saying. I believe she's telling you what she wants you to hear. UPS has been the best company and the best opportunity I have ever had in my life. I’ve had a lot of jobs I’ve been here for 40 years you cannot go anywhere‘s in this world and start making what someone is making that has been there for 10 years or more, you have to gradually work your way to it. This is not an 8 to 5 job and drivers that are hollering . about being overworked and excessive overtime that is part of the transportation business in the delivery business. If you’re that unhappy with it leave because you’re not gonna make this kind of money these type of benefits any place else . We all have to work overtime. We’ve all been through it it’s just that too. Many of you have been cater to throughout your younger years and you think you’re entitled to things. It frustrates me more than anything else in this world for employees that have been here less than 10 years and I remember being through a strike before think this is not going to be their best option and way out. I will not cross the picket line. I do not agree with it because I went through it at 97 and nothing changed then and nothings going to change now. It’s part of the workforce you have two and you will work overtime. You cannot just go out and say oh my god my eight hours are up. I’m going home even though you have packages left. Deliver were there to provide a service that’s what UPS was based upon since 1907 our name, and the service we provide.

I would cut my pay by HALF just to see her and the rest of the executives try this job. She seems so disconnected from reality. She says "We" as if she has been with UPS for a long time and refers to the Teamsters as if they're an opposition to UPS. I'm not going to pretend as if I know what it's like working in her position because I don't. What I do know is if UPS really cared about the customers and the employees, they would take FAR more steps in making the job more efficient. It would cost money and take time yet it would be a tremendous step in the right direction and I truly believe retaining employees is far more important than how many you can get in the door.
