Being chased by porch pirates and unleashed dogs !🐕 They are probably on a timer, they sre promised a certain pay amount at start of each shift. If they take too long to unload the 300 something packages by certain time then they get docked pay. You get promised $20 an hour and if you don't complete all deliveries by end of shift you get pay deducted to $10 an hour instead of the promised $20 an hour. That's why Amazon delivery drivers always act like they are out of breath or getting chased by something.

If Amazon wants to reduce returns for clothing, force clothing manufacturers to stick to a standard size chart for the US market. If seller's clothes don't meet the size requirement, then they can't sell. Simple as that. I know my measurements to a T because I sew. And I read the size charts, read the fabric content (so I understand the stretch of the fabric and/or shrinkage), look at every picture of other customers wearing the garment I am considering, then read ALL the reviews. I really appreciate other women who put their measurements in their reviews, because when that happens, I usually don't return my items. But after spending a considerable amount of time critiquing each item I am considering buying, if I order 5 skirts intending to keep them all, I still average returning 2-3 of the 5, which either don't fit at all (size chart is completely wrong, usually too big because the manufacturer did not account for fabric stretch or shirring), or the fabric is different or of very low quality than the item description (or the item description lied, like said the fabric was cotton and it's modal) or the fit is just ridiculously wrong (waist band of a dress sits on top of my boobs, or sleeves are too short/long/uneven or something ridiculous like that). I bet if they forced manufacturers to adhere to a set size chart, returns for clothing would drop in 6 months significantly, as people figured out how to make that size chart work for them. It's why the guy in the video said brick and mortar stores like Macy's, Kohls, JC Penney only have a 7% return rate....because people know how Kohl's "SO" brand, Penney's "St. John's Bay" Brand fit them, because it's fairly consistent and the size chart has been in use for years.

Heck yeah! Yesterday I went to the mall and I was wearing a pair of size 6 shorts I bought last year. While I was there, I tried on a pair of size 8 jeans and they fit perfectly. I tried on another pair of jeans - different brand, but same style - also size 8 and I couldn't even get them past my knees! I tried on a dress size S that fit fine, and one by a different designer size M that was way too snug. Yet if my spouse tells me the waist/inseam size of his jeans, they will fit every time, he doesn't even have to try them on. Ditto if I know the neck/arm measurements of his shirt size. I makes me angry all the TIME women have to waste trying on clothing because sizes are all over the map.

I'm an amazon driver currently. Amazon has been saying forever that they are reducing stop count but what they actually do is just group houses that are close. Some times in groups of 3 or 4 houses with like 6 packages total and they count that as 1 stop. It's still doable but in Arizona in the summer it sorta sucks

I’m a Driver in Arizona as well. The job is honestly super easy, the fact that these people complain about 113 stops and 150 packages is crazy. My routes consistently consist of 180 stops and 300+ packages and I get done quicker than most. The heat is no joke but the real problem is many drivers spend their day messing around on their phones and it ends up putting them behind on their route.

On the routes Amazon drivers get today.. their break and lunch times are not built into route and Return times. Essentially Amazon does not expect drivers to take breaks anymore. They hand you 400 total packages to deliver to over 200 homes and expect you to finish in 6-7 hours. Everything is a metric and measured. That's why you're now seeing a trend of unionization of major corporations because people have had it with the abuse and greed of these companies.

What area are you in? I only receive 20% of packages handled by UPS. If ordered through Amazon I get my money back, otherwise I just get screwed. I'm charged shipping but the shipper pays UPS, therefore UPS does not consider me the customer. UPS marks package as delivered, shipper sees the package was "delivered" and neither UPS nor the shipper care where it was actually delivered. It really is a nice scam.

Any time I’ve used ups in the last few years it wasn’t by choice, it was because I ordered through Walmart or target and certain items ship through them. I’ve had a few problems with ups, not so much with Amazon just because when I did have problems with my package I got my money back or they sent out another one.

UPS has failed me many times, including from amazon... FedEx? Not once. So I typically avoid anyone who ships strictly UPS, I avoid FedEx only shippers too if international due to fees unless they handle everything in the costs. Afaik only UPS will hold your 80lb package hostage at the request of the shipper for a signature... (pre-pandemic, I don't drive, I luckily live a 20 min walk from a UPS store but still I had to buy a dolly for that purchase, it was winter right after a storm too)

Working in industry, though not for Amazon as a driver, one thing they are missing is not giving the drivers regions of work. UPS, DHL, FedEx, Royal Mail, - here in the UK - and the like give drivers regular routes to work. This enables the drivers to be familiar with the conditions of their environment, know when traffic is heavy in certain areas and learn short cuts that will save them time on their routes. This knowledge is priceless and can only be achieved with drivers delivering to the same region, day in day out. Also, having some way to feed back issues with the systems provided would be priceless and best if that system is delivered on a personal level, a member of staff at each location whom is responsible for acknowledging the feed back and then relaying it to those who can make the change. Finally, having a portaloo/a camping toilet, like those found in campervans/Winnebago's is the obvious solution for the lack of facilities available and this should be applied industry wide. To support this, onsite cleaners can be on hand to clear this at the end of shifts, making the vans ready for the next shift - this should be standard. Instead of chemical toilets, you could use compost toilets and then sell the biproduct to the fertilizer industry to support the facility of the toilets. That way it comes at little or no extra cost to the business, employees are happier in their work and you help facilitate the transition to the use of healthier fertilizer to grow crops for a more sustainable economy. A green touch that is on par with the ideology of Amazon and its founder Jeff Bezos.

I used to return stuff. Now I just hang onto it becasue most of the time, I can re-use it for something else. Cheap clothes I just use for rags or house cleaning. A lot of things can be used for school projects or art projects by my kiddo. I even have my husband improvise on furniture. This approach on delivery isnt just an Amazon problem its an industry problem. I work for Costco as a trucker and they really do stretch their expectations to the edge on employees. In a 8 hour shift they will route the 1st load from central NJ to Long Island NY which, with traffic can take 8 hours alone round trip. Then they will give the driver a second load that may take an additional 4 hours. They route these days expecting them to be done in 8 hour shifts. many drivers will not take lunch and skip breaks. Keep in mind they ARE paid hourly but most drivers do not want to live at work and FEEL forced to spend half the day there.

I am so thankful for the r ability to return things. I have a little trouble getting items where I live and it’s very frustrating especially when you’ve ordered like $200 worth of stuff. I use Amazon for most of my shopping because being legally blind stores can be overwhelming for me since I have hearing loss as well and I have trouble hearing customer service agents, so I’m very appreciative of their policy. I wouldn’t use it for any other purpose but that or if I ordered the wrong size of some thing for my son, but yeah, they make it so easy to get things done and get the things I need for my son and my house and myself. While I do appreciate your service, they really need to work better with their workers. The way they are treated is ridiculous. And that should be a violation of honestly OSHA standards because if you can’t go to the bathroom, get food, and things like that it’s putting too much stress on the workers mentally, physically, and the health consequences should be enough that Amazon, as much as they make can do way better than they are.

I’m a class a delivery driver for a foodservice company (union). Regarding driving, Amazon and box truck drivers make some of the most dangerous moves out there. Class A drivers are often trained to be extra cautious when we see those vehicles.

It's actually one out there called " Dead Man's Clothes." It's a huge business, you honestly think all those clothes go to ppl for free. Most of the country's that get these have NO recycling after independant contractors get them. Funny we buy designer clothes from company's in other country's that pay workers starvation wages and when we're done with them they go to other country just as poor, most of whom don't want them.

The unsellable clothes were left to clog the drainage ditches beside the road. There were gigantic mountains of clothes at the dump.No clothes manufacturing company can compete with the donated clothes market. So much of our economy is based on disposable or cheaply made items. Getting items repaired is almost a thing of the past now just throw them away and buy new ones.

My prime membership is up for renewal in 90 days. After being subscribed for several years, I think I’m done now. I’ll still use Amazon for infrequent purchases, so this isn’t some act of protest or anything like that, but it’s made me realize how much I take for granted without knowing what sinister stuff goes on behind the scenes. I have been using it less & less the past year regardless as I’ve been a lot more financially responsible since 2020 and it hurts a little but when I could have used that money to hammer my investments harder especially at this young age. The price increase definitely doesn’t sit well with me, and if not getting packages in 2 days or less is my biggest problem, I really do not have many problems worth fretting over. I’d much rather just keep my Costco membership which I get a much better ROI anyway.

What I find frustrating is when I order items from Amazon and they divide up the order into several deliveries. Why do they do this? More boxes, more packing materials, more delivery stops, it just seems so wasteful.

Coming from different warehouses. The cost and logistics of getting everything in the same place before delivery isn't worth it, to amazon. Same thing with returning multiple items, and they'll need to be boxed separately and shipped to different places, wasteful but amazon has decided it's more cost efficient.

As an example, when I try on Levi jeans, I always get the same size and style. However, I have found that any two pairs of the same color, size and style to not be consistently sized, so I have to try on muliple pairs just to find the one that fits. I've also found that Levi the same size and style but different color are even more differently sized from each other. For brands like Abercrombie, I have to purchase a full size larger than other brands for anything to fit me. Nike shoes run at least a size small too (and narrower than other brands of the size labeled size). If clothing sizes could somehow be standardized within brands and between brands, what you're suggesting *might* be possible. Personally, I don't see that happening.

Not mentioned here is that many returns are caused by POOR packaging. They often ship in the thinnest box and packaging in order to be "green", but then energy is wasted by the return process. Every time I've returned stuff is because of shipping damage. Expensive Items shipped in plastic envelopes that just get destroyed through normal handling. And burning up merchandise instead of donating is just ridiculous.

I can't realistically see someone being disappointed in a system that has not only the exact item you are looking for, but several similar products WITH REVIEWS that help you decide. Now go to a big box store. How many different products can they put on shelves? How many stoves and freezers can you fit on the floor? Do they offer a delivery service? If so, do they send toothless methheads to your door to they can scope out your place? I went local for my washer and dryer and this was the case. A couple of toothless tweekers that were EMPHATICALLY alert and couldn't stand still for 10 seconds if you offered them 50 bucks. Didn't even let them in my place. Just took the appliances and found someone else to help down to the basement for a case of beer.

Walked into the shoe dept at Macy's and chose a pair of shoes then looked for an employee to go get my size (which is the system at Macy's, they don't have open stock out on the floor.) I approached a register where an employee was standing and before I could say a word she sniffed, "You're going to have to wait a minute," and disappeared into the storeroom. I patiently waited several minutes until she came back, at which point she looked aggravated that I was still there, and said, "Ma'am you'll have to go get in line over there" and pointed to a register where several customers were waiting to pay for their shoes. I said, "No, I won't," and I walked out. Came home, and ordered the exact same shoes on Amazon AND they cost half the price. This is why malls are out and Amazon is in - at least for me.

Amazon also relies (or, at least, did so in 2020 when I worked for the USPS) on the United States Postal Service for Sunday deliveries. UPS did, too. As for the pee bottle issue, try being a USPS associate mail carrier (CCA). Delivering on routes you are unfamiliar with, with no map or GPS, plus the required Sunday UPS/Amazon deliveries where there is no route but you have a GPS, means you often don't know where to pee, and it can be very stressful. During the pandemic, a lot of gas stations wouldn't even let us go pee, and there were many other places that were the same. Now I work for Amazon at the KCVG "Air" sortation facility, where safety is both highly important and I see routine signs of it not being prioritized, even when a rule comes from a senior manager. When OMs, AMs and PAs don't follow the safety rules, and they push for speed, the associates tend to follow suit. It's human nature. A friend of mine who is a high-level OSHA inspector told me that Amazon is so safety focused because it was listed by OSHA as a severe violator and assessed heavy penalties.

That is not really a hardship, just folks work until the route is done and they are saving time so they can get home to loved ones. Pays the same no matter how long it takes for most workers and subcontractors.

I live in a small gated neighborhood, we leave the gates open 6am-6pm mostly for the sub-contractors for the new homes, but ALL the delivery trucks UPS Amazon, USPS, FedX scream down our street like rockships! We have even place sign cones in the middle of the street to "Please slow down, children" and they ran over them the same day! Then we put up large signs "Slow Down, Children Playing". Does absolutely NO good! I have been known to run out into the street and stop them asking to please slow down. No results. And since it is a Private street we can't get the sheriff to come sit and help out, I believe they know this!!!

I've been stung by a scam a few times now, with amazon and also other companies like Zappos, where a person will buy two similar products, like sneakers or phone cases. One may cost $30 and the other $80, for example, and they'll keep the $80 one but return the $30 one in the packaging for the $80 one, get the $80 refunded. It's very low risk to them, if caught they just say "Oops I made a mistake". The returned products go back into the warehouse and the next person to buy the $80 one gets the $30 one instead. They either realize it's the wrong one and also return it, but are left unhappy and may not reorder, or they think they were tricked by the seller with false advertising and just leave a bad review warning others not to buy products from that seller/brand, which hurts the totally innocent company who sells the more expensive product. Warehouse workers are rushed and don't check all that closely to notice it's the wrong one.

The best way to not have all this waste is to not create so much stuff in the first place, especially things people either don't need or don't want. Capitalism is good at artificially creating demand for things that are truly a waste of resources, either because they're lacking in quality or not really as necessary as the customer thought when they purchased the item. Or they're designed to need replacement in a relatively short period of time either through planned obsolescence or prematurely wearing out. We're slowly waking up to the fact that we can't just keep doing things like this forever, but the will isn't very strong yet to do a whole lot about it, due to kicking the consequences down the road, or hiding the true costs.

The delivery issue starts with the way Amazon's AI creates labels to pack boxes. Not only size, but weight needs to be taken into consideration when determining what can be boxed together. A 16# bag of kitty litter should not be put with a box of cereal. With Amazon Fresh, 40# of flour, sugar, and baking supplies shouldn't be put in one grocery bag simply because they will physically fit and are in the same aisle. Totally unacceptable to expect a driver to deal with the stupidity of the packaging as well as everything else.

This isn't counting group stops where Amazon groups multiple house's under one stop. I average 25-30 stops per hour. Usually I'm jogging my route to finish in time. I agree with you Jack, but also, I live in an area, where if I want or need a certain thing, it's likely I won't find it from my local retailers. For example, even the few department stores here locally no longer sell women's nylons. If I have a special event to go to, or a job interview and need pantyhose, I have to buy them online. Also, if I have that same special occasion, only one store locally sells more semi-formal dresses, and if there is not one to fit me that will work (I have a large bust and sometimes finding clothing is a pain), then I have to go online. Walmart already got rid of a lot of mom-pop local businesses, but they don't specialize in more formal wear (or really anything of good quality). I do try local thrift stores, as I am not above using previously owned clothing, but that is like trying to find a needle in the haystack. Sometimes, you get lucky, but more often than not, you will walk out empty handed. Also, I will only buy women's shoes that are made of leather anymore. The cheap plastic shoes everyone, including retailers like Macy's sells (for a lot of money) make your feet stink. I realized a few years ago, why it was my feet never stunk when I was younger....it was because leather shoes were the norm. No one local has leather shoes. So, again, online I go. It's really been a race to the bottom in America. Fast fashion rules our lives and has degraded our lives. Most people don't even understand how a garment SHOULD fit them anymore---no one sews. I would rather own few clothes that are made from quality natural materials and have a classic, good fit that fits me well, instead of all this synthetic crap that looks good on no one, and is meant to be thrown away after a few months (or it breaks down and gets holes and that's the end of it). We value cheap. But Walmart start eroding local businesses in the 1990's.

Pick up your cross and follow Jesus! The world is quickly headed for destruction, and sooner or later you will have to sit at the judgement seat and give an account for your actions. Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life! - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God tho. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. After watching this segment on liquidation and returns. It makes me wonder what would happen if Amazon stopped offering free returns. Meaning the customer had to pay shipping back to Amazon, were then charged a 10% or flat rate re-stock fee and then only were fully refunded if the return was a issue of wrong item sent.

My issue with that is a lot of times you'll get merchandise that is not at all as described. Amazon's created a whole nother market of selling off and liquidating so I have four different stores in my area I can go to and even buy return to Costco merchandise I love it I got a kitchen sink faucet $48. Was a Costco return. I think they sold that faucet for about $98.00. I know one gentleman whose an immigrant to the area. He's reselling returned merchandise from Costco and Amazon he is making a killing. Told me, he's going to open up 3 more stores before the end of the year.

They already implemented the restocking fee for everything. Back in the days, I only see 10% restocking fee for computers. With Amazon, it's 20% restocking fee for even crappy, in a bag tools. Usually I get a lot of junks, used, stretched, scratch up. I rather go to a store, at least I get to see, test, feel what I'm buying.

Amazon drivers have run into my house and subsequently run over safety cones placed to protect my house. Some of the drivers can’t back out of the driveway. Drivers should know how to drive their large vehicles. UPS has never damaged any of my personal property.

Whoever is doing vehicle route optimisation at Amazon why can’t you add a 1 to 5 scale on the app to let dsp driver provide their feedback , use NLP to identify issues and let the algorithm learn from the feedback . I understand that as a solution architect you cannot have operations experience but at least leverage technology

I used to have difficulty finding bathrooms on my route, I learned if you wear DEPENDS under your underwear; it helps you incase you can't get to bathroom fast enough and keeps your clothes dry. Another think, parks have bathroom and it is always free to everybody ( don't need to purchase anything out of guilt for using the bathroom). There is plenty of parks everywhere around all cities in each state. Another thing, when you go to gas station, use the bathroom whether you need to go or not and restaurant always have bathroom. You can purchase a $1.00 item and use bathroom guilt free. Grocery stores have bathroom, walk around and see if want to buy anything after using bathroom, if not just walk out. Always stop at bathroom first when you go into a store, take care of your business then do what you need to do. Rest stops have free public restrooms for travelers/public.

Amazon warehouse worker here. Amazon does NOT have safety meetings before each shift for the workers. They just do safety announcements at beginning of shift and after lunch. Very, very minimal ones. Usually just "don't speed in parking lot". They do a 5 minute safety meet every 2 weeks that only really discusses lifting.

The return disposal is nuts. My ex got a $250 Sony Blu-Ray player from Amazon - that she did not order. When she contacted them, they said for her to just keep it... it was not worth returning?! Since no one she knows in the US still uses physical media, she shipped it to me in the Philippines. I also do not use physical media, but some of our family members do. 😎

I enjoyed my time at Amazon, I do agree with most of the stuff, however as a consumer and someone out on the road, knowing that the drivers have a camera pointed at them ensures that they won’t be enticed to look at their phones

Thank you for feeling for us! But...we wouldn't work there if we weren't kinda treated OK? At least I can say that. Maybe it has to do with the Generations? I come from a work hard, have fun generation and I like working there. I do feel they have a discrimination towards Age, but it is a part of business, age long (no pun intended) where get the young ones to do the job for cheaper what an experienced more qualified worker can do in half the time, better quality etc etc etc. You sacrifice the quality of your business for costs. That is what Amazon does, from my perspective. There is a portion of the business that I see will benefit from an up coming technology, and will revolutionize it and help the planet. I plan to be a part of it. Peace ~~

I work at an Amazon facility that provides two hour delivery of groceries. If the groceries can't be delivered or are refused they come back to the warehouse and get thrown away. We also remove product from the shelves if it's been there too long, near expiration, or isn't selling. Half of this gets donated the other half gets thrown away. This happens on a daily basis. It sickens me how much perfectly good food gets thrown away daily and we aren't allowed to take any of it. I estimate that you could probably feed at least 100 people for an entire day on the food thrown away each day. Sometimes it's a heck of a lot more.

retail does the same thing with food. liability is huge when someone eats something donated and then "claims" they got sick, turn around with a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

I worked for dps, and it was nice at first, but after you show Amazon that you can get all your packages out within 6 hrs....the next day will be horrible. I did my work so good that Amazon started to write me up because they claimed that the customers could not see their packages in the shade...that it was too dark. So they made me put the package in the sun, take a picture, then hide the package... It was horrible. Especially when you have to drive up a dirt mountain and you are at risk of possibility tipping the truck over because the road is too narrow. Amazon sucks. Not just driving but their warehouses, too.
