When I was in business school years ago, the only thing I remember any of the professors mention of value was "people think thin, but they eat fat" He was right. For many years, the big burger chain restaurants (McDonald's and others) have been trying to come up with more "healthy" and leaner versions of their meals. And all it did was make their food taste bad (especially their french fries). If I want to eat healthy I would NEVER go to a fast food chain restaurant. And when I am not looking to eat a healthy meal, but I want the food to taste as good as possible, I would go to a place like Shake Shack. Which is exactly what places like Shake Shack,Steak N Shake, In-N-Out Burger are captilizing on. Most of the other business professors just focused on text book learning, and also talking about past history in business, a lot of their 'advice' had no relevance to current/future business cycles.

I lived in NYC when Shake Shack was only in Madison Square Park, and my coworkers and I who were up on 36th and Broadway would check the live feed of the line (yes, Shake Shack lines were so long that they had a camera outside that showed live video of the line) and when it started to look like it was getting shorter, we'd race down there and line up for a burger. The shortest lines were 10-15 minutes long on a good day. One weekend they had a special burger (peanut butter and jelly burger) that we went out for and the line was 1.5hrs long. I miss those days hanging out with people in line and just chatting, although now that I'm in California I'm glad they're everywhere.

@@TheSaikou96 yeah i know, you just need to be in the areas where a lot of those people are which tend to be pricey $$$. Its not always like that and now with covid even less but still

Ignore the food critics. A lot of them are idiots. Let the general public decide if they love your food

Tried Shake Shack for the 1st time last week....one and done, never again. Too expensive, burger was tiny, fries tasted fishy and requested no sauce and they put a lot on, could have been mayo based, I'm allergic to eggs....big no no
