Eddie Nuñez left Lima, Peru at 14 years old for the United States. He made it to Virginia, but 7 years later he was arrested by border patrol and placed in detention. Eddie eventually represented himself before an immigration judge and won asylum. Today, he's a U.S. citizen with a wife and two children. He and his wife earn $420,000 a year from Eddie's work as an IT specialist, their snowplow business, seven rental properties, and his wife's at-home daycare business.

Thank you all for the nice words and thank you @CNBC Make IT for featuring me in your channel. I was afraid to tell my story because I understand that immigration is an extremely controversial topic. However, I wanted everyone to know that if you come for the right reasons to this beautiful country; you can achieve many goals as long as you walk the right path and trade in hard work for it. I am extremely grateful for the sacrifices that my mother and my wife did for me and to the judge that despite having one of the toughest records was able to truly listened and review my evidence. My mother is the true hero in my story, she never gave up. She worked 3 jobs to support my little sister and I; she has suffered and experience the worst in life, she is truly and inspiration to my entire family. To everyone, Once again thank you so much for the kind words; you all gave me a sense that I really belong here.

God bless you and your family! That’s what I’m trying to do here. I’m from Guatemala and I didn’t go to jail thank God but I did have to take control of my case because the place where I had my documents handled for my residence didn’t do the right job and they were going to deny my case if I didn’t give enough and sufficient proof for a pardon. I read, I saw tons of KZbin videos because lawyers were just too expensive and didn’t seem like they cared either way. Thankfully with my sister’s help and other family I submitted my case and I won my pardon!! Actually God granted me that amazing blessing, now I just need to get on track and start making the 💰 to help my parents and make them proud 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 God bless all immigrants❤

He's an illegal alien invader who managed to game the system to cut in line ahead of actual, legal immigrants. Calling this illegal alien an 'immigrant' is an insult to all legal immigrants. He did everything he could to avoid the legal immigration process, including probably using someone's stolen social security number and identity. He should've been sent back to Peru.

I am an immigrant. Although I am more privileged than he is as I came here legally and with a bachelor’s and RN license, it was during the economic collapse. Twas never easy: scrubbed toilets, cleaned houses, almost became homeless. I resented coming here because the American dream was nowhere to be found. An opportunity knocked in a border town far, far away. I grabbed it with only trash bags to place my belongings. What I’m trying to say is, keep on looking for opportunities. Even if you face hardships, never think that you are a victim for one sec. It will make you depress and it will Make you loose focus.

Landlords grabbing a lot of property can manipulate the prices of rent in the community and make housing out of reach for regular people in the community. Landlords are the reason why rent is so high and renters are struggling so much. Some countries require properties to be owner occupied to protect the native population. He even put in the work to sway the judge with a strong argument to stay in the U.S. Thank goodness, she truly heard him out. Let’s not minimize this man’s incredible story. He had legit obstacles that MANY people cannot overcome. May they find their way… but let’s not take away any credit from this particular individual.

@@HuesoAmarilloAfricana absolutely! My grandmother was an immigrant, who became a US citizen. So I understand not taking away his credit. I’m responding to the comment above somewhat insinuating, that all immigrants are not hard-working. Congrats to him. Many immigrants overcome MANY obstacles everyday. Majority people who are American born don’t understand that all immigrants have to work hard no matter where they come from because we don’t make it easy for them at all in America.

@redboneafricana22 migrants get free bus rides, while our birder towns are shutting down due to the massive populations dumped on them. Immigrants get special treatment because the government wants to milk your family

Eddie, all I can say my friend is I am proud of you. You have reached and will continue to reach a place where a small percentage of Americans including myself might not be able to reach. I am i immigrant myself and can relate. Keep pushing forward my friend and don’t stop and continue to build up that generation of wealth. Great job my friend, stay humble and don’t forget about your roots and God.

You must follow the money, and get gov contracts lol. Then acquire assets and trade equities (see J bravo lol). Generally, the gatekeepers of those look for already high status people but sometimes you can entice them with a diversity sob story which they will brag about in their annual performance review. Otherwise, get an engineering degree; although no one will currently hire you, you will learn how to think, make cool things, and be a badass in general :) College is free, just fill out the fafsa.

As a single mom currently struggling but making ends meet in California, working hard f/t and taking care of my baby 24/7, this video gave me the hope and inspiration I have been lacking recently. I truly believe that I will get my little family out from living month-to-month into the financial independence that I strive for (currently my income goes 60% towards renting our 1 bedroom apartment), so thank you SO much for sharing your story. It is truly inspirational and gives me hope.
