With all due respect they are not in competition with Lowe's or Home Depot To go from 1 million to 2 million to 4 million the 8 million it's fantastic that magnificent and rapid growth however 8 million is not anywhere close 80 million or 100 million

They don't compete with Home Depot. A contractor who makes 50 bucks an hour wants a totally different supplier then Home Depot. When you have to wait around 30 minutes to get back from a manager that they do only have 30 of the 42 cases of flooring you needed, that cost 30 minutes plus the drive time plus the time finding a new flooring product, the client is ok with or just drive to the next nearest home depot to get the extra 12 cases. Dicking around with a consumer grade supplier can costs contractors hundreds of dollars before they even bought the material.

Good business idea to copy, because it also worked in other places and industries ! He is basically running the outlet for home improvement products who sell to the largest customers. There is a similar business idea in different countries. He is selling left-over stock items from the last production run. I think Overstock is doing the same for all product categories. There is also the exact same business model in a German outlet type of store.

If he replaced the home improvement materials with apple, Microsoft, and rare coffee prodcuts would it still be "blue collar"? I guess I can see someone making the arugment, but buying and reselling products is not what people imiage when they think of blue collar work. I can understand a contractor whos on site leading the project, but this guy probably does more paperwork than lifting.

@@greygoose4x46 I thought the whole point of business and trading since the beginning of human civilization was to get a good deal aka one with higher margins or offer better products that can be exchanged for more. Sometimes lower margins are better to increase sale volume and maybe make a livable income.
@greygoose4x46
@greygoose4x46 4 жыл бұрын
HyDragon higher sale volume equals more work and with lower margins you’re working more and getting less and or paying someone else to work more with a higher risk ... so no not really
@hydragons
@hydragons 4 жыл бұрын
@@greygoose4x46 you are dropping you margins a bit and maybe for a limited time to get higher number of people coming in and buying. Now this can be to indroduce a new product or to increase the upscale value. Once people buy an item they might want some add ons and accessories for said item. And it actually works if implemented correctly. There is a trail and error involved to understand your customer base.
