In light of the ongoing global economic crisis, it is crucial for everyone to prioritize investing in diverse sources of income that are not reliant on the government. Despite utilizing the correct strategies and possessing the right assets, there can still be variations in the investment returns among different investors. It is important to acknowledge that experience plays a crucial role in investment success. 1934 was actually one of the best times for investing that you could ever hope for. People were very fearful at the time due to the biggest stock market crash in history happening from 1929 to 1932, but the best time to invest is right after a huge crash.

Nothing new under the sun, it's all about correctly anticipating FUTURE earnings, which of course no one is able with 100% accuracy. Even legendary Warren Buffett got it wrong, very few times, e.g. with Iscar (Israeli based manufacturing company). Honestly, most of us simply don't have the talent to see behind the numbers. My biggest takeaway from WB is, a company can be richly valued (Apple had a market cap of around 600 billion US$ in 2016) and still have huge upside potential, if the market prices future earnings too pessimistically. Apple today books a net profit of 100 billion US$ a year -> a 6 pe ration in 2016. Market average for the S&P 500 is around 15, historically.

When Seth says you need an "edge", what this really means to most hedge funds is trading on inside information. I'm not saying Baupost is doing this, but this is how (Galleon, SAC, etc.) make money. They have access.

The edge was also what Peter Lynch promoted. It's investing in early fast growing companies that Wall Street isn't paying attention to and they normally operate in boring dull industries (unlike tech). The market will eventually catch on after significant growth and positive impact.

I see a lot of companies doing Stock Offering. And they get hammered. Cause everyone hate dilution of share. Me I could care less. I rather see them sell stock offerings. Then to go into debt. Cause they have to pay off that debt that really bites into their margins. With higher interest rates. Borrowing capital not the best move at this time. So to fund further growth and implement business plans. You need capital. But investors are mistaken to sell. Just because of stock offering. Yeah some may fail. I’ve seen it happens. I rather deal with stock dilution then a Reverse Split. That’s a death nail for under funded and no cash flow companies.

In light of the ongoing global economic crisis, it is crucial for everyone to prioritize investing in diverse sources of income that are not reliant on the government. This includes exploring opportunities in stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the challenging economic situation, it remains a favorable time to consider these investments.

The pathway to substantial returns doesn't solely rely on stocks with significant movements. Instead, it revolves around effectively managing risk relative to reward. By appropriately sizing your positions and capitalizing on your advantage repeatedly, you can progressively work towards achieving your financial goals. This principle applies across various investment approaches, whether it be long-term investing or day trading.
