Watching and waiting for more on this project Peter. Made a few speaker cabinets for friends and had great results with taping the v joint on the face side of the ply to give it more strength when bending at sharp angles and also run a thin line of runny superglue tight into the v before bending,any broken fibres in the thinnest part are then held in place.

Hey Peter, in case you didn't know, one of the tricks for bending ukulele/guitar sides (the waist), is to use a veneer softening agent. Which is a mixture of glycerin and water. There is a professionally made product called Super soft. I've found this helps my bending uke sides significantly. As always, I enjoy you vids. Peter

Thanks for the advise Peter. I've never heard of this. I ended up steaming the wood over a kettle and it worked well. Isn't glycerine an oil? Won't it stop the painting of the finished project? Cheers Peter

Actually, its water soluble. No problem with finish. However, it does hold moisture, so it takes a while to 'dry out'. See ya
