Will you have a video showing how to orient tools in fusion to correctly match how they approach the material in the lathe? Great walk through of lathe CAM! I am excited to see what else you will release!

Extremely useful! Does the finish OD following the thread operation dip into the thread at all? It's preferred to finish after threading instead of before threading?

Tyson left all the roughing of the main body for after threading because of rigidity issues. The back end gets very thin so he worked from front to back and then part off... which kept the part extremely stable during threading. Finishing the body was last right before part off.

Doing a finish pass after single pointing a thread is usually a good idea. It makes for a better quality thread. To go a step farther rough it out without the chamfer or groove, then thread it. After that come in and cut the chamfer and the groove with the same tool, then finally do one more single thread pass taking roughly a thou. Do this and you'll have a perfect completely burr free thread.

I’m having issues with the threading portion. Have the exact same pitch & thread depth settings, but when I run the simulation, the threads cut way too deep & I end up with a crash where the tool hits the top of the threads. I’ve tried it numerous times, creating a new threading profile each time & get the same results. Any help? I’ve tried to look for help on the forum, but my account is locked out for some reason & I can’t get an admin to respond to unlock it.

Ive got the same issue going on. The newer Fusion apparently changed how treads work. Also the part in the video has a diffrent chamfer then the part I am using at the end of the threads. The part in the video has a chamfer similar to the first one, but the video on how to draw the part did not show how to put a chamfer on that end of the threads.

Was I supposed to watch "FUSION 360 FUNDAMENTALS" before attempting this? I was hoping for something more like G-code. This is quite the step up.

Hey can you guys please use your muscle to encourage fusion 360 to support 71-72 canned cycles for turning!? Its not a big deal for everyone however some of us with older fanuc control are not blessed with endless memory! Would be cool if they supported it...
