Hi, great work!!! I am very curious about the following things (Maybe you can add them to the description): - How much time did you need to runt the complete mill program to cut the body out (in hours) - Could you enumerate which drill bits you used and for which operations? Thanks!
@ralfklaassen7 жыл бұрын
3,5 hours i believe. 12mm diamond endmill, 8mm endmill, 6mm ballnose, drill bit
@ralfklaassen7 жыл бұрын
mostly i use a 12mm endmill to cut away most of it.. then i will contour some pockets with a 8mm because i need 4mm or 5mm radius in de corners. i dont know exactly anymore.. i just look at what i wanna do and program it on the fly

Nice routing dude, nice wood grain. I saw almost all interesting moments, I saw how you fixed wood blank when you carved front side, but ho you tilted and fixed body when you carved backside (tremolo cavity and belly cut)!? Can you show it or explain? Thanks
@ralfklaassen10 жыл бұрын
Hello, I cut out the outerlines backside..then turned around the body and push it in.. so it has a tight fit. and i also have its zero point again.

Hi Ralf...nice video and work. One question, when flipping over the body...is it holding just by the snug fit of the template? No need to keep it seated with vaccuum or tape? Thanks Alex
@ralfklaassen10 жыл бұрын
Hello Alex, Yes its only hold by the snug fit... i start with the precise measurements and then make it 0,1 mm bigger per time to feel if it fits good.

For carving an electric guitar with a CNC is necesary to make the plans in 3d or is it possibly making them 2D. How do you do? thanks in advance.

Hi. Sorry to bother you but I m trying to build my on cnc machine the same as yours but I have some wonders, how big may table can be and what cnc breakout board controller would I have to use if my table is 1500mm × 600mm ? Thank you for your time and patience. Best regards. Juan
@ralfklaassen10 жыл бұрын
Hello, With spindels longer than 1000 mm there is a possibillity that they can wobble at higher rpm. so 1500 is quit long. My first cnc has 1300 mm limit in the y-axis .. but i run it at 4600 mm/min maximum so they will not wobble. My second cnc has a range of 1100 mm. Also depence on the pitch of the spindels..and the speed of the motors. I use 25 mm "ISEL" ballscrews on my machines. first cnc pitch 5mm with nema 23 motors...and second cnc has 25 mm ballscrew with 10 mm pitch and 34 nema motors...The breakoutboards are many choice....how many motors you wanna use and how much money you wanna spend. "I would prefer usbcnc" Look at damencnc.com in the section "software". I will use cpu V4 when the machine is done..but there are more choices and possibilities. Greetings, Ralf

Hello Alan, Thanx, I use a 12 mm diamond endmill... here is the one i use shop.jvl-europe.com/epages/61425996.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61425996/Products/900/SubProducts/9001626 2200 mm/min whit a 1400 mm/min finish.. but play whit the feedspeed and finish speed sometimes.. and i use climb milling most of the time. greetz, Ralf
@alanstclair804010 жыл бұрын
Ralf Klaassen Hey Ralf, many thanks for the link. I have never used this type of cutter before. Do they give you a better surface finish on the end grain and where the grain is reversed ?(like in the horns?)
@ralfklaassen10 жыл бұрын
ALAN ST CLAIR yes..i started using these cutters because he lives +- 15 km from my workshop...the cutter has a verryyyyy long stand time.. they stay sharp for long time.. because of the space in between the cutters the material can leave the cutter fast. Especially in the grooves it is a plus
