Nice video. I'm in the process of building a small CNC lathe right now. I'll have to check out your other videos see if I can borrow some of your good ideas.

Love your enclosure, wish I had one of those on my machine, nice job. I would be pushing those cuts a bit more to try and break a chip instead of getting a rats nest. I know when I first ran my g0602 I was doing it the same way, babying all the rough cuts, but really you gotta get rough and push that thing. I have found for aluminum a .015-.018 step down at .01 IPR will make a nice chip for most operations. What are you using for your control software, mach3, linuxcnc?
@CNC4XR79 жыл бұрын
Mach3 Yeah very conservative on this part there's 6 inches hanging out so I did not want to puts it but I think a increase in doc is needed.

Now that it's done, are you happy with the build? Anything you'd change? Do you think those stepper motors are a good size?
@CNC4XR77 жыл бұрын
Very happy with the conversion However there is always things I would change! I would go with a 2 HP motor and VFD Just because is not much different in $. Steppers are fine But I really like the 3 phase on the PM727 so I would go that route. Tray deeper it fills up fast with chips. And I would use the C11gs and make it full CNC from the Start and not install a PoT.

How do you get your feeds and speeds??
@CNC4XR73 жыл бұрын
No real good answer for that. In the beginning I was running the G0602 in ipm. But now I run at constant surface speed and feed per revolution. Normally around. 01 .02

Hi Nice set up , just wondering which QCTP you are using and where did you buy it?
@CNC4XR77 жыл бұрын
The one I'm using came from Shars along with the tool Holders.
