People don’t understand that during the Industrial Revolution precision measuring tools were not yet available . Inside and outside dividers and a steel rule was pretty much it. Most machine work was done by eye…..They trained themselves to recognize the smallest measurements. Without this skill there would be no steam engines nor CNC machines their long apprenticeship made our society possible. This man is living proof of the value of obtaining skills. Steve B.

The marker allows for the scratch pass to check thread and when the marker is gone you are pretty close to your thread. SteveB
