I'm lucky to have Tommy Aarkvisla and Simen Strømhyrden from CND europe to work at my local flyshop here in Norway. As you probably know Tommy has been casting at Spey-o-rama a decade or so. And Simen alongside others has been designing the cnd Gravity. series. It's really turn out to be some amazing rods. I myself only got the Gravity 10ft #7 for my singlehand spey fishing and a couple of the previous CND BV GT two handed spey rods. I guess the comp rods are as amazing as the fishing rods. Have a nice day! And thank's for all of your casting videos!

Awesome! The CND Gravity 15" #9/10 is my go to rod for salmon fishing in the larger rivers here in Norway! Just a joy to cast with. And I also love my older CND BVGT 13"7' for smaller rivers. Both with Nextcast lines of course!

Very nice to hear all the pro's of the CND rod. It would be fine to see the whole rod in action including the cast ,not only the handle. - What kind of fly reel is he using ? Does it need such a big size as an couterweight ?

Hi LineSpeedJedi! You have a fantastic situation, you can cast with so many different fly rods (and lines). It is superb. What do you think and feel...when compering CND Comp rod vs Gaelforce Comp rods...do you think/feel that one of the rods is more heavier/tip heavier to cast? More difficult? More stiff from lower parts of the rod?

The CND has a bit of a Scandi feel and personally I would love to own one. It’s pretty light for a comp rod and can be lined heavier or light and still have plenty of power. The Gaelforce beast is nice and can handle a lot of grains, It seems to have a powerful tip and bend a throughout including the lower part of the blank but not severely, it seems evenly distributed and very straightforward to cast, maybe my favorite in terms of how I like them to bend personally, although it may need more grains than I want to deal with. The equalizer altitude is light and fairly powerful enough for guys like me who want to upgrade from 15 year old graphite. I have not cast the Altitude +. From what I understand the LTS Graphene comp rod is very nice, similar to the CND but bends more in the lower part than the CND. For the money I would seriously consider it. They are all good rods and very capable. Any of them would work for me!

i'm a bass fisherman in Bastrop TX. Looking for largemouth in any body of water - stock tank, creeks, lakes, ponds, etc. Catch and release on the largemouth when I find them. I'll keep white bass when the run is one here in TX. One day, out of the blue, I decided to get a fly rod. Never had one before. Researched a beginner setup - rod/reel + line combo. Tied the knots I use for line to line on my bass gear to get the fly reel backing connected to the main line (double uni is a goto). Realized quick that is not right. Anyways, got it all connected, started to learn how to cast - forward cast, backword cast, always look at the back cast, and the loop. All the fundamentals of that I suppose. One day, tied a 3/0 EWG hook to the leader on my fly line, put on a plastic fluke that I catch bass on. Threw that on my fly rood, learned quick that it doesn't work that way. Somehow, I ended up seeing videos on youtube about spey, skagit, I don't know which styles I saw first. It might have been your channel that I saw first. Today, I've still got the same 9ft 5wt that I started with, but now it's got Berkeley running line, 200grain OPST Commando, 5ft floating tip that I interchange with a 7.5ft OPST sink tip. And I'm hooked. Gonna pull the trigger on a Maxcatch trout spey that you reviewed. So, I watch your videos everyday, and again and again. And other channels as well. All about spey, skagit, fundamentals, technique, slow down, etc.... Yeah, but anyways, I want to say that I watch the way you cast cause I seriously idolize you. I want to do that. And when I make mistakes, I slow down and go to roll casting. question is this: have you ever tried out a rod that just didn't work for you? I'm thinking that you'll know the limitations of a rod, or the whole system, and then figure out what it takes to get it performing.

Thanks brother that means a lot! Glad you are finding success. Yes! Some rods are just not my cup of tea! I have used a few rods that Dud not perform to my expectations! But sometimes it just a matter of finding a line system more suitable. But sometimes you find one you absolutely love!! My goal is to refine my quiver until I’m absolutely thrilled with ever single one in each category. I’m almost there! Some rods are indeed subpar. For me, life is too short to fish bad rods. And good doesn’t always mean expensive. I have a few cheap rods, like just over 100 bucks, that I love!

Hi tim.. I've been out of town a bit.... that 15 footer seems like a beast to the uninformed like me. You make it look effortless. I need to get back together with you to work with the single hand scandi

I have the Gravity 7/8 and totally about the action being fast but not stiff. My older BVGT Steelhead Specialist is a bit slower but still has plenty of power. Interesting notes on SOR. I hope to attend someday to just watch and learn.
