To paraphrase, you say the mode controller is very simple with not a ton of variables such as a BMW M. You mention it has weather, eco, tour, sport and track.What you're failing to recognize is that there are actually 5 separate track modes. Wet, Dry, Sport1, Sport2, and Race.All adjusting different parameters within the magnetic ride control, traction, shift points, electronic limited slip to name just a few.

If they find a way to get that heat under control, the Z06 will be a much more attractive car.
@benmorris76668 жыл бұрын
We have a Z06 (with Z07, and carbon fiber forever). The Z06 has a VERY common overheating problem, that this show mentioned NOTHING about. I don’t know what percentage of drivers are having the problem, but my personal experience is that 75% or more of the cars that are taken to the track overheat. Or, to be more clear, the computer shuts down the supercharger to prevent an overheat. In some cases, it shuts down power steering to control heat. (IE, it protects itself, by making the car a piece of crap.) The net effect is that while the tires are cold, and the engine is cold, you get 650 horsepower. When the tires warm up, and the engine warms up, the superchargers sporadically cut off, taking you down to about 400 HP. Which, for a $100k car (yes, we paid that much), just is stupid, and even dangerous on a track, to not be certain of your power output coming out of turn. Chevy took forever to even admit there was a problem. Which, is a disgrace. (Unlike Porsche who had some problems with the GT3, and stopped global shipments until they solved the problem, and then did a retrofit for every car in the world.) Chevy has offered NO solution. Gear-heads at the track have found solutions, and they work. But, our dealer has opined that it might void the warranty to put them in. Again, A disgraceful answer to a design flaw. The Z06 is sold as a “track car”, yet will not work at the track until you undo some of Chevy’s sloppy engineering. Again, a disgrace. To this very moment, over a year later, Chevy has simply noded and said ,”yep, that is a problem. Try driving in colder weather. Or, don’t take it to the track on hot days.” SERIOUSLY ?!?!?!? Again, SERIOUSLY? Chevy needs to be embarrassed into owning this issue. If VW must own their mistakes, Chevy should own theirs. To always end on a good note, the Z06 is a nice looking car, and it sounds great. A “Super car killer”, it is NOT. It can not keep up with a 911S on some tracks, a car with only 400HP. (ok, that was not a good note to end on. I tried.)

Wondering why they just didnt call it the ZR1. Im not a Corvette enthusiast, but my interpretation of the ZR1 Corvette was always the top of the chain of the Corvette in the power and handling realm of things. Wouldn't this fall in that category? Again, im not a expert in corvette's.

No Z07 package but you want the data logger? Why? If you plan on taking this car to the track where the data logger is useful then you NEED the Z07 package to get the most out of the Z06!

Drops the Z07 package..which is the best bang for the buck (the tire/rims, CC brakes, all those carbon fiber parts) for ONLY $9k...."the brakes" alone cost $9,200 on a 911 turbo, $8,150 on a M4....so with the Z07 package your getting everything else for FREE. But he rather have the data logger for $1,600 LOL....why get it if your really not even the kind of driver that would use it?
@cali24688 жыл бұрын
There's no purpose in opting for the Z07 package if you don't plan to track it on a road course. Even then you have to ask yourself is it a must have for an extra 8k. They handle pretty well without it albeit not as good. The Performance Data Recorder is a must have IMO.
@JerseyMikeP8 жыл бұрын
If your not into performance..why even get the Z06? And from every review/test...the C7 Z06 doesn't handle all that well...at least not as good as the C6 model. Getting the Z07 package would be a good investment and will be worth it if/when you sell it. The brake package alone cost $10-15,000 on BMW/or Porsches...let alone the rims/tires and carbon fiber pieces. The data logger..isn't worth the money...especially "if you don't plan to track it on a road course" as you put it.

Isn't DISTRONIC PLUS is the old name for COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST in Mercedes cars?
@TimothyLawTV8 жыл бұрын
+osamaFXX DISTRONIC is the radar system that is used for adaptive cruise control. DISTRIONIC PLUS is the cruise control that has the ability to follow the car in front. PRE-SAFE is the system that prepares that car for impact like tightning sear belts and headrests. COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST is the automatic braking feature. They all use DISTRIONIC sensors.

:( this car has a big issue, engine factory defect. for this reason was the Last best driver car in motor trend, they explain that. GM need to work more to sale this car.
@yocaha17778 жыл бұрын
ver heating problems. As the vehicles are prepped after many press laps, the service technicians were not bleeding all the air from the intercoolers causing the heating issues. The other mishap during the services was that a connector for the cooling pumps were not being reconnected properly causing the cooling pumps to run intermittently. This is what the chief corvette engineer quoted as being the problem in recent interviews. There have been other issues where the wheel alignment has been maladjusted also causing handling problems. I seems that GM would have a master mechanic prep the cars before track sessions for magazines and the press to assure the best performance. It recently failed during the Best Drivers Car competition due to a malfunction.

Automatics are faster, more reliable and convenient lol... Rather get an automatic than a piece of shit manual
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
+RzVids Automatics drive the car for you, disconnecting you from the experience. Manuals give you a direct connection between your foot and the engine, and they're much more involving and fun to drive. If you want an automatic, you're probably not that interested in the actual process of driving. Or possibly you're interested in just drag racing where autos are faster. Other than that there's no reason to have an automatic unless you're lazy or a poseur or incapable of driving a manual.
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
***** Dual clutches are automatics. This is proven by the fact that you can put it in D and just leave it there and it shifts for you. And it only has two pedals. A manual has three pedals, and doesn't shift on its own.
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
***** Almost every automatic has the ability to shift it manually. It doesn't change anything, it's still an automatic. If it doesn't have three pedals including a clutch, it's not a manual.
