@RageicaNiels The FIAT 500 hasn't come into its own for the US market yet. The upcoming Abarth introduction still won't do it for them, either. I have great hope that they'll find a way to revive the FIAT Abarth ethos of some 4 decades ago, but they've hooked up with an American company that isn't known for making the best decisions.

@Edonatar Well, relatively for the performance / dollar ratio its a damn bargain. It has the exact performance of a BMW M3 (motor trend compared them head to head) for $20,000+ less. Its high style and performance for much lower dollar.

Never buy a porsche, the pieces for it are extremely expensive, the ford mustang uses a lot of fuel (that may be a big problem depending on the gas prices in your area) and fiat cars aren't very good overall.

My brother was lucky enough to get a range rover and his tires are over 500 bucks for one (michelin brand) and some mercedez dealerships can charge you over 1k for an air strut replacement. So old cars that were once expensive = costly parts/service.

bustex1 What you say is true, but porsche parts are some of the most expensive (building a whole range rover by parts would coust you around 6 times the price of the car, a porsche would cost you 10 times). Also, very old cars like the 1970 porsche 911 have really cheap parts and cars before 1980 weren't computer assisted, and that makes them a lot easier to repair.

The Carrera is a gorgeous car. Its price tag not so much. But what do you expect from a $150,000 car? Any less than perfection? Probably not. And if you have to pencil out the options and cost of ownership, you probably can't afford it!!!!!!! I've driven a 911, its fun, but not six figure Ferrari/Lamborghini obnoxiuos fun. I think in that price range I'll be looking for a Ferrari.

+Martin Espinoza YEAH because engine failure means a $5000 repair, whereas if the Fiat radio fails I don't really care (just buy a new one; or use my phone). Engine reliability is FAR more important than if my radio plays Britney Spears MP3s. Anyway the top 6 most-reliable engines are: Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Volvo, Fiat, and Ford. The bottom least-reliable engines are Volkswagen, BMW, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, and some other companies that went bankrupt (like Saab) .
