I have had both the Tile Mate and Tile Slim 2022 and both died on me within the first year. Tile was kind enough to replace them and ship me new ones, but this speaks to their quality in my opinion. I have had Apple airtags for even longer, replaced their batteries (they last about a year) and have had zero issues. Apple airtags are more accurate and do not require a subscription for things like alerts when you leave your item behind (Tile requires a subscription for this).

I've had tile for the longest, and at a time subscribed to the extended service...I don't think the service was really worth it, but the tiles themselves aren't too bad, helped once during a luggage pickup situation at SFO. Been meaning to get the samsung ones, since I primarily use galaxy devices

@@austin_ug4656 I just received my brand new smartTag2 which failed to find my S23Ultra at around 100ft away from the tag. The good thing about it is that it notifies me when I'm leaving the tag behind and shows me a google map to go to where the tag was last connected. I also bought two Tile Pro which surprisingly have a wider range of connection than the SmartTag2 but I must pay $30 to get notify when I leave a Tile behind(which is insane because that's the price of a SmartTag2). I'll return the 2 Tiles Pro and get me the SmartTag2 just because of the notification when I leave behind a SmartTag2 because 99% of me losing things is basically me leaving things behind.

So , let me get this straight .... If you place these devices on/in an item that might be stolen , the device will alert the thief's phone they are being tracked , defeating the whole purpose of the device. Ok.

Apple has been very clear that AirTags are for recovering lost items, not stolen items. I know it makes them less useful, but honestly, if someone steals your bag and you track it to their house, good luck getting police in most places to go in and get it.

Not being funny but isn't that a flaw regarding the stalking notification on apple or am I missing something? Did it say the airtag will detect if its moving with a person (that isn't the registered keeper) and send a notification to their phone and say that an airtag is tracking them........ what if they have stolen an handbag or a wallet etc that contains someone's airtag, they will be notified and search for it to throw it away and keep going with the stolen property. The whole point of the tag is to track down the stolen property, not find it discarded because apple notified the thief they was being tracked 🤦‍♂️

Do the tiles send alerts to people saying three are being stalked?? I personally don’t like that they do that. I put em on my own devices like keychains and it always tells me if I left my keys or if I’m carrying my keys etc. I’d rather look up the AirTag app and find the location. I don’t need 20 reminders throughout the day. Also, I’d like to put my devices on my valuable like my cars

The Tile Pro LOOKED like the best option, until you figure in the exorbitant Subscription fees (free with Samsung and Apple). While I DO currently have a Galaxy S23, if I decide to trade in for a Pixel or One Plus, the tracker will no loger work?? ...guess I'll go with the Apple Air tag and just run AirGuard on my Android phone.

Can you leave a tile or any of these in say a storage unit ans get notified if something is removed? Basically notifying you of your tracker moving position. I can't seem to find anthing like this.

First, you did a GREAT job on this video! I am definitely subscribing! I use the Tile Pro for my keys and the batteries only lasted less than 2 years. I have an older Samsung S10 phone, and it can detect if an air tracker is nearby and traveling with me. I like the Tile but I hate that the batteries can't be replaced. Too bad the AirTag couldn't work for all phones.

Tile Sticker will work. Before tile offered them I used a slim tile and had a spandex wallet that stick to my phone case to hold license, debit card and tile. Just got a new Galaxy S23 + so now searching for new items.

Apple won this round; I had a few tiles as stocking stuffers that I used that were ok, but when I started using AirTags for trips, I felt like the whole experience was cleaner and more accurate. Also if I’m not mistaken, Tile charges for a premium service too

@@Junispro31 they might ping more often as in update their location however, seeing as the tags go off of devices nearby and Apple wins by a landslide, the AirTag wins in accuracy due to the number of devices it is able to ping off of. If I’m not mistaken, any Apple device with a MAC/IP address is a pingable device so that includes iPads, MacBooks, etc. those too also have greater numbers than their Samsung counterparts.

I use both apple and Samsung to track my car if stolen, and they both are good, but the apple shows real time of car moving down the road. I also removed the speaker in the apple so thief can't locate it if they get an alert of being tracked.

But, a product like this one should have a very long lasting battery, otherwise you gotta babysit it regulary and check it's charge, which is too much hassle.

None of them. They are not intended for that. If someone steals your car and your tracker is the AirTag, and no one near your tracker (car) has an Apple phone, you are SOL. Same with Samsung SmartTag if there are no Galaxies nearby. It uses the Bluetooth of nearby compatible phones it's not GPS capable. People buy these to find their pets if they run off and get mad at the device if the pet runs to some remote wooded area and the tracker doesn't find their dog or whatever But no one with a compatible phone was nearby! They are the dummies for not understanding how these things work

This review is sort of bad timing as the New Android Find My Network launches in about 3 weeks which should work as well or better than apples Airtags or apples find my network as way more android phones about. Samsung smart tags networks is so small & only works with Samsung devices. The only thing Airtags & Samsung has over Android is UWB for better locating finding.

This video is a little late as I just recently got some AirTags, but obviously if you have a Samsung or an iPhone you get the tracker that corresponds to your device, currently in my case iPhone+AirTag. I have used Samsung's SmartTag with a Galaxy A53 in the past and while I was able to find the tag which slipped out of my bicycle's bottle holder, it took a LONG while for it to connect even though I was within Bluetooth range. I found the tracker before my phone did and it never notified me that it got left behind.👎

I used to use Tile, there good however, I'm a iPhone user. Air Tag is the best way to go. Apple ios device network is way much larger and you would have a much better chance of finding your item.

I have tiles. They are the only real choice if you dont have apple. Here the two cons that I ran into that I cannot understand why the limitation exist. You cant remove a tile without putting in a ticket You cant put some tags in theft mode. Its all tags or no tags.

the battery life is around 6 months.... depending on what you are using it for that's fine. For example I use mine in luggage a couple of times a year and have fitted a rechargeable battery in it and that is perfect for me, any longer and I would forget to change/charge the battery and it would be no good next time I went on holiday! If you are using it as a tracker in your car or motorbike, its easy to install a buck converter on the car/bike to bring the voltage down to 3.2v and connect them permanently to the vehicle battery so battery life becomes a non issue.

Tile and Samsung trackers will never beat AirTags. I have had to fix Samsung Galaxy 22+. Samsung apps SUCK. Downloading a Google alternative was always a better experience. Tile well they don’t make enough from Tile sales to provide some service it needs to work for free. This costs money and that money is passed down to consumers in the form of a subscription fee. Apple makes so much money off iPhone and its apps that they can offer a far superior product with zero subscription fee and it works well with Apple Ecosystem. The only company that could make a tracker to compete with AirTags is Google and their Pixel line.
