Got to give the airline some credit. AirTags are definitely inexpensive insurance and peace of mind when having to check your bags.

Of the roughly 115 million pieces of luggage put on a plane between November 2022 and January 2023, less than 1% was lost or damaged. Source: The Hill, Apr 15, 2023. Some airlines are better than others at accurate baggage handling, so some lose bags more than others. It is not the same for all airlines.

Air Canada and Toronto Pearson International Airport back then had systematic issues where luggage were being lost all the time. It might have bee fixed since back then. However at the time, it was extremely well known that Air Canada often loses check-in bags.

@@VenusandMaiku That's horrendous track record! I've flown since I was 4 in Europe and never had any problems. My sister once lost the check-in carriage for her son on a flight, but they got 1st class back home and money for a new carriage from the flight company in compensation.

Booking the aisle and window seat doesn’t always work if it’s a full flight ✈️ it only works if flights aren’t full and in must cases flights are always full after the pandemic 😷

i am a big confused. they took your white & blue carry-ons when you boarding the plane, then how did you get it back right after you got off the plane after flight 1? when you took your carry-on, don't they put them in the luggage cabin with your original check-in luggage or they kept you carry-on on the plane and gave them back to you ?

Back in 2008, Toronto airport didn’t load my baggage on my flight to Vancouver. It arrived on the next flight 2 hours later, so I had to obviously wait in the airport not knowing if it would turn up. Shame AirTags were not around then.
@joec13013 ай бұрын
am i correct you (1) checked in your large luggage with an air-tag, then (2) you had to check-in your carry-on with another air-tag because your carry-on was too big???

I tried this for our european flights, Birmingham UK to Ljubljana via Frankfurt, then returned Ljubljana to Birmingham via Munich, not once did the suitcases appear to be on the plane with us always seemed to stay at the departure airport.

Great video. im leaving to hawaii next month. Might make the same video :) i'm surprised after you were forced to check your carry on bags that you got them back when they landed. My girlfriend was told she would get it back when shes at her destination and they lost her bag :( air canada is seriously useless in finding bags .

Did you put the air tag inside the bag, I was thinking if it were to be put on the outside it could be torn off.
@VenusandMaiku9 ай бұрын
On the inner lining of the bag. There should be a zipper, where you can tape it on the inner shell.

that middle seat trick didn't work. mostly because airlines are too greedy to let any seat just go unfilled

It is a business and not a charity corner shop. Flying a plane costs money, and airlines need to fill every seat possible to cut losses

Where did you get your statistics from? There is a "50/50 chance the airlines might lose your bag" when traveling in the US? I don't think so. The only time my bags were lost, in the past 33 years, is when I flew to Germany. And, if you think about it, given the millions and millions of travelers flying domestically in the US, if 50% of the bags were lost, the lost bag storage facility would have to be miles long. So your numbers don't add up. And most airlines don't just regularly bump people. The airline that I love (Alaska Airlines - flies to many places besides Alaska) alway asks for volunteers to get bumped. And quite a few people want to get bumped because the airlines gives them a credit worth several hundred dollars for the inconvenience. So some people actually try to get bumped. Your video would've been more interesting if you could show how the AirTag works when the bag goes missing. When you think about it, that's what people care about - how to use the Find My app when your bags are in another city or something like that. People don't really care what you had for lunch. Thanks for trying though...

Bro your US flight information is just straight up misinformation lol. Dude it isnt 50/50 that they will lose your luggage.... Thats absurd. Flights can get bumped but its not happening all the time.... Dude you're ridiculous lol Thirdly booking a hotel last minutes IS A GREAT WAY TO PAY THE ABSOLUTE WORST PRICES lmfao. I fly in the US all the time
@VenusandMaiku Жыл бұрын
you do you buddy. Everything is perfect until it happens to you. Americans don't have a passenger bill of rights like Canada or the EU does. So it's way more prominent to bump people and lose luggage. There are no regulations that punish the airline when those things happen. However, it's true. i never book anything until I arrive in the city. I think you are confusing hotel prices with airfare prices That idea that hotels last minute skyrocket is completely unfounded and it's a sale tactic based on fear by hotel room sellers. The one exception is UNLESS you are in the same city as a Taylor Swift concert. But by that point, prices had already skyrocketed since the announcement of the tour date. . Normally hotel occupancy rates are around 60-70% unless there is a conference in town. They have a supply they are trying to get rid of. I've been all over the globe, and hotel prices don't fluctuate that much.
