i personally have this kit on my brand new chevrolet van with the 6.0l and just as ive posted i have driven and tested all of troy's vehicles right after his installs. i have been a cng technician and ford master cng systems tech for the past 9 years. i myself have engineered systems that others cannot and i have never seen any installs even from oem's that are as nice as troys. please do not knock him until you see this installs and drive them. and troy is a utah certified installer.

The hoses between injectors and the intake manifold are too long and the injectors is better to be mounted vertically .

I bought an older GMC pickup setup with a PROPANE system. Runs on gasoline or propane. Has a 110 gallon LP tank in the bed. (Paid $1,600 for the truck including the system already installed) I understand the CNG vehicles can ONLY be filled at a CNG station, and these stations are hard to find. I think there are only 4 or 5 in the entire DFW Metroplex. Rare fuel stations. LP can be found all over, especially in rural locals.

The page says $850, my question's are: Where can I get one? For how much? Do you do installs? If so, how much? I have been told this type of system will also use propane as well, is this correct? As I cannot find a Natural gas supplier where I live, I also don't have Natural gas where I live so the home pump system is out for now. Dale

My trash truck runs off of 3600psi cng, pulls 70k pounds no problem. Not sure how much the tanks hold but get close to 200 miles from full.

That is by far a clean install...I have a quick question...What happens to the injector pulse and fuel pressure from the regular fuel injector and fuel pump. I know you cannot turn the engine computer off because then you will not have any spark. Thanks in advance for your help

The wires going to the original fuel injectors are tapped and go to the CNG ECU before coming back to each injector. This is so the CNG ECU can control the original injectors; turning them off entirely, mixing CNG and gasoline in certain situations, and switching over from gasoline to CNG one cylinder at a time, for a smooth transition. CNG injection timing is also calculated based on the original injector timing, multiplied by a programmable map.

Yes with LPG Reg and jet up the carb appropriately. Just repaired an old Ford Inline carb. Nothing special. Get the equation for more fuel needed. And make sure your reg is facing the correct position

well, the equivalent octane rating of cng to petrol is 120, so yes, provided its tuned right, potential for power. i am going to tubocharge my cng falcon later on.

If you are not certified you dont need to be messing with the conversion. 3600 psi is NOT something that just anyone is safe to work on. and fo you to get a two tanks and the kit under a grand is imposoble with out useing out of date tanks which is illigal.

I HAVE A LARGE AIR COMPRESSOR Can I use that to store my compressed methane Or is there another type of tank? And are there any that are lighter? I want to save on weight wherever possible.

nope, a compressor has a working pressure of around 150psi. for natural gas (methane) you need a tank that can withstand roughly 3000psi! propane however can be stored at a much lower pressure as it liqufies easily. a compressor tank is probably never a good idea. something purpose made would be safer.

So in 2020 I bought an 03 Tahoe with a bizillion miles but otherwise in outstanding condition. My biggest reason for buying it was that it has the L59 flex fuel option, and I've been making ethanol in bulk since about January 2021 (if you know what I mean). And I'd like to add an lpg / cng setup that I could switch over to depending on what fuel prices are doing. Only issue I'm running into is the requirement of a separate ecu to run the system, because the truck has an integrated body control module that will lose its mind with aftermarket hardware. So 2 questions if anybody knows what protocols gm used for the vehicles computers to talk to one another back then (I'm told it predates CAN bus) and is there something I can use in between an aftermarket ecu and the bcm to act like a translator Thanks

it has its own computer that takes several inputs from the engine and determines the CNG systems mixture ratio. typically from what i have seen a relay is added to the fuel injector and/or fuel pump circuits and the CNG computer cuts power to those circuits during transition, i'm guessing there is tuning involved for compensating lag time and overlap of the 2 fuel systems.

A fully electric supercharger would use more power than it would make. I've seen tons of videos and write-ups on it and all say the power that would be needed to spin a supercharger hard enough to create any boost gains would use enough power to need an extra alternator which In turn would create more drag pretty much equalizing the gain/loss back to stock. There is a car company now (cant remember right off hand) that has a turbocharger which is using electricity to get the turbo spinning to help with turbo lag so they can run a bigger turbo but once the exhaust pressure is high enough to spin the turbo on it's own the electric motor stops sending current and begins making electricity like an alternator/generator. So it uses electrical current to spin the turbo up then draws current to recharge the battery from the loss for the spool up
