Outstanding video! Let's hope that the 113 gets insulation and jacketing placed on her boiler and cylinders, so that she will have the same appearance she had when in regular service on the CNJ. She will also burn less coal!

+SierraRailway To be fair, 0-6-0s were never really meant for speed or long hauls, much less smooth rides. They were generally made to be yard shifters for cutting trains apart and together, and thus built as sheer tractive effort. I highly doubt the drivers on 113 are as finely balanced as a road engine, either, but you can string 50 modern (empty...still heavier than period equipment) freight cars behind it and it could still move them unassisted (and she's has done this recently, actually)...and that's with her boiler de-rated by 20 PSI.

Thing is, there's just no highball with her, is there? That's just for the bigger mainline Pacifics, like BM&R 425... That's another steamer I'd like to see at Steamtown, and not just as a static display like she was at Railfest 2014.

The whistle is as melodic as it can get. I bet that engine rides like a bouncing cork. The right hand seat is not the place to be if you have hemorrhoids! ;)

Arachnikadia more than likely to provide power for the coaches and for braking purposes. Also as a backup incase anything happens to 113. 113 has enough power to pull the train
