Congrats man! I stumbled upon your channel about a month ago, very interesting. I’ve seen countless clips of their broadcasts over the years but never tied together for the day. My grandfather was a Korean War combat veteran with a Purple Heart. I can only imagine how he felt watching these poor people being subjected to this.

KCNA has always had a dedicated website with a livestream available to watch for free online....Your approach to pirating the Satellite signal and stumbling upon it accidentally is definitely more news-worthy though.

I've seen that website but the video quality is very poor and the sound stutters. The satellite feed I found is broadcast quality.

@@peterfairlie2296 Both your uploads and the other website are letterboxed SD, though Wikipedia says they have a 1080i feed as well. Maybe that's OTA inside of North Korea only?

@@martianbuilder5945that HD feed sadly is moved to a russian satellite with much narrower footprint, people reported having hard time picking up KCTV HD since July

​@@martianbuilder5945 the HD version was broadcast on Chinese satellite before that covered much of Asia along with parts of Africa and Europe, but alas it moved to Russian one which covers just all of Russia plus their immediate neighbors possibly aiming to limit monitoring by the South.

@@krasCGQ I actually speak Russian and I just did some digging around for any Russian people who might be doing the same. I found one channel on VK that is uploading daily streams in Widescreen HD but the quality looks no better than here. However, there were some 1080 HD videos of the concert that they did when Putin visited (with the signature KCTV watermark). Maybe they have access....

It's funny, I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which has become my mobile comms wagon lol, and I've entertained thoughts of setting up one of those Winegard portable dishes on top with the other antennas so I can try to intercept some of these neat and interesting sats when I'm out and parked somewhere. Your channel has made me want to do that even more, especially lately with all this North Korean stuff! 😆

Thank you for uploading your interview. The Turkmenistan broadcast was surreal. Crazy how these dictatorships are out there, not necessarily thriving but definitely getting by in terms of population control and security.
