However, nothing was done by those in power to bolster faith in the electoral system being fair. Pennsylvania unconstitutionally changed the rules. It was acknowledged, but not fixed. The Supreme Court punted because addressing the issue would have been to difficult. To this day, states continue to maintain deceased and otherwise ineligible people on the voter roles and actually refuse to remove them--this is no longer an oversight. Why is that? The people should expect a fair election process and a working system. That is what people want. They want a working review process with appropriate recourse. That did not happen. Nobody wanted to overthrow a valid election. They wanted accountability and a correction, if warranted.
