When the developer puts expensive houses around hers, it will be worth something but she probably won't be able to pay the increased taxes. She lost that home when all her neighbors cashed in and she refused so all that's left is waiting for her to sell it before she loses it from either imminent domain or because she can't afford the higher taxes she's going to be hit with. If her neighbors had banded together with her, they could have all kept the land, but clearly being the last holdout leaves her with only the court of public sentiment on her side, and only as long as the media covers it. Being that this is a minor feel good story, it's likely to never be reported on again and in a year or two she won't own the property.

That's how they do there i have seen it for years when i visited my uncle and aunt and he would transport workers to the island . He would tell us all the stories of what was going on from his church members. That was in 1993 and up til they both passed 2000 and her in 2020. She has some Northern in her as well so they messing with a smart grandmother . Praying for her and she has a great team of people behind her. My mother in law was born near by in Ehrhart and father in law but moved to NY in 1940s then moved back after retiring in 1987. So visited there for many years loved going to the Gullah area. Visiting there soon to see in laws. Prayers to you all there it is gorgeous people there and awesome heritage.

Make sure they expose the corruption of Beaufort county justice system. Look into how horrific Hilton head island hospital is and the justice system protects the hospital. They use a vacuum 16 times on a baby's head during delivery and try to cover that up. You tell me brain damage to 9 parts of the brain and all the medical issues isn't cause of the lengthy time without oxygen or the 16 pop offs of a vacuum on a babys head didn't cause neurological issues.. the hospital is protected by the legal system just as the legal system is built to screw a woman over like this. Highest iv infection rate in the country and hospital was in huge medicare kickback scheme also!

The development company has already technically admitted in their lawsuit that 1. they never, not ONCE bothered to check the property boundaries given that they say in the lawsuit that part of her house is on "their" land 2. That they've taken the surveyors word that it's correct and left it at that even though they knew someone was living there because the surveyor would have had to have gone around her house to mark out what the development company "owns" land and her house/land was clearly visible on the plan shown in the video and 3. That they never bothered to get in contact with her before laying down the start of the subdivision until the summons to court over this...

She has also owned that house for 30 years, this is exactly what squatting laws are for. If this land dispute is genuine, it's no longer valid as the property line has moved from the prior owners not bothering her when she was 60. The land survey wouldn't show this simply for being out of date, but it's undeniable that the area would become part of the house's property.

Yah I figured once the property was sold to her all those years ago and the local town approved the sale it was basically a wrap. Thats if their claim was "legit". The only other way should would be forced to give up anything would be if the GOVERNMENT had some important use for the land "etc. But those don't apply here so I hope their family counter sues them and I hope that LLC goes bankrupt :)

My family too has property like this in what used to be the unwanted areas where they sent the black folk back in the day, but is now prime expansion territory.
