The problem with Israel's strategy, if you ignore the countless violations of international law. The occupation, the collective punishment, the apartheid conditions, the illegal detentions, torture of detainees, extrajudicial killings, the ethnic cleansing. If you ignore all of what they've done, the problem is their only strategy has been to kill other people so hard they would stop trying to kill them. And historically it has failed spectacularly. Hamas and Hezbollah didn't even exist at the start of all of this, and then both were very weak until their resistance against Israel elevated their status and power. Stupid Americans who finance the decimation of civilian populations because of their selective empathy with one group over another, and their total ignorance of history and context are a real problem in so many conflicts.

It is, but it also isn't. It is a whole set of violations of international law in respect of jus ad bellum and international humanitarian law, mostly the second. But those laws are almost never adjudicated, and never successfully adjudicated against western powers. Indeed the US once straight up ignored a ruling against it. But no ruling was ever made on Vietnam, or the 67 war, or many others. The practical reality is that war crimes are a moral and rhetorical concept, they don't exist in a legal sense most of the time because no one actually rules on them and no enforcement mechanism exists in most cases. You have to understand Israel has been violating international law, including IHL for decades fairly continuously, particularly the Geneva conventions in respect of transfer of population due to the settlements. Nothing ever happens because the US won't allow it to. Same position as the veto in the UNSC.

Disproportionate punishment. Nobody denies Oct 7 was horrific and unacceptable. But Israel has been tormenting those people since the 50s, and Hamas is the result of leaving people with no options. Now Lebanon, a country of beautiful people, music, food and culture, is threatened. This far right regime wants to reinstall a greater Israel from the Old Testament.
