He tries to sell a one-shot treatment for SMA for 2 mln $ each and not a penny less. Just to create price precedence over life-saving medicines. What a good person he is.

Yes modern medicine is expensive, but one has to see this also from another perspective, which of course is difficult if one is personally effected. The development costs of medicine is huge too in average one billion for one effective treatment including all levels of research. So if there is a very rare disease and they develop a treatment, trying to make up only for the already invested money (before the patent runs out) is huge. That is where this price tag comes from. I also don't believe that the CEO is the one who decides the prices of individual treatments, maybe the one who says ok to the research to begin with ("ok let's spend these 900 Million USD and try to find this treatment for these worldwide 5000 patients, who will have to spend a fortune on the treatment"), but that was decided way before his time.
