In episode 14 of The Dialog Project, we have with us Aditya Ruia who has co-founded Beco, an FMCG start-up in the sustainability space. Aditya is also a part of the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2022.
He explains what inspired him to create a mark in the sustainability sector. A chocolate wrapper found while cleaning the beach is what changed Aditya’s path completely, and led to the foundation of Beco.
Aditya then speaks on the importance of complementary skillsets that co-founders should bring to the table, and gives a brief about the same, in terms of Beco’s co-founders, Akshay Varma and Anuj Ruia.
Coming to one of the most important aspects of a start-up, Aditya then explains the advantages of bootstrapping, and mentions what worked in Beco’s case. He shares his views on when founders should raise funds, and when they could bootstrap.
Moving ahead, he shares their journey of testing their samples, taking them to the market, and strategies that worked in their growth.
Lastly, Aditya talks about the challenges they have faced and takeaways from those in Beco’s journey so far, and what they have in mind for Beco ahead.
